forteh
Let me have a check on finances (wedding in June so gotta keep an eye on it atm) but certainly interested Easiest to grab them on the (so far unplanned TF Cannock Chase Bimble), you're a good 45 mins from me so a special journey seems daft. What colour are they/ going to be? To be honest I'm not fussed on aesthetics, my frame has paint flaking off, forks are scuffed up and my rims are ground If you haven't already stripped them then leave them as is (assuming I have them), it fits into the scheme of the bike - ridden not polished! CurtisRider
I'd happily leave them if needs be, just some paint flaked off the arch at the centre, rest is fine! Paint is satin black, was going to do it the same again. Decals can sit ready for you to apply if you like (old ones are already off). I'll service them anyway, just so i'm 100% happy they are ok (only done about 100 miles since last service so should be perfect inside still!) I work in Stapenhill, but live in Nottingham so if you aren't far then it's no worry Edited February 23, 2014 by CurtisRider
forteh
Not far from stapenhill, about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic/speed. Still probably easier to just meet up at cannock unless you're desperate to come visit lichfield
Krisboats
Why did you try the Saint in the first place? You're not f**king about with that gear ratio set up. I take it you're not doing any uphill rides? I switched from 135mm to 150mm frames and needed a new wheel for the weekend because i'm impatient. Found a saint wheel selling on ebay for £60 with no bids so i went for it. Haha, hell no. That bike has 8 inches of rear travel and big draggy tyres. There's no way i'd do distance on it. Suprisingly though, even despite the 40t chainring whacking it into the 23t cassette cog is a pretty lightweight gear. it's only a 1.7 ratio, where as my singlespeed jump bike is 2.5 and i ride that all over the place. Duncy H
Doesn't look like I'll be postin pics of my bike no time soon, found 4 cracks in the frame, bearings I were sent are wrong ones and two of the pivot bolts have rounded. Flipping hate this bike, had some right trouble with it.

Flipping hate this bike, had some right trouble with it. What bike is/was it? Shit that you've found cracks; easibly fixed place? that an onza roadie proto? Some Chinese factory making cheap carbon bits. Onza struggle to produce a new trials frame every two years, let alone a Carbon bike!
CurtisRider
Sucks about the cracks, is it going to worth even getting it welded?
Duncy H
There's 2 cracks on the weld either side of the head tube and 2 cracks bang in the middle of the headtube near no welds so with them all being so close I don't think it's worth being welded. It's a trek remedy 2010
craigjames
Does sound pretty terminal, don't think i would trust it once it had been welded anyway. It's a lot of heat that will go into a small highly stressed area.

Duncy H
Yeh I believe it to be terminal and only useful as a wall ornament. I'm going to have to lump it and buy a new frame cause I have so many trips planned this year. Can anybody reccomend anything to look for? After a kinda enduro type 160mm frame that has slack angles. My trek rode nice but I've obviously been put off now, I'm still unsure about orange 5s, and I'm not sure what else to look at with a budget of about 4-500? Tom Booth
Buy a lappierre at tell me why I bought a five and where I went wrong. I honestly regret not looking at the specialized range. They seem cracking bikes up the line. Nukeproof seem flavour of the month with most too.

Over your budget but it is brand new and makes for an amazing bike: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/nukeproof-mega-am-frame-rockshox-monarch-2013/rp-prod81835 If not look for someone selling the original Mega (150mm) which was a beast of a bike, and arguably more on trend than their current offerings. trialsbikingnunn
CLS is selling a orange 5 frame for £50! got a few small cracks but for £50 that's a steal. they can probably be repaired
Tom Booth
Seems to defeat the object of replacing a cracked frame....
Duncy H
Not sure I'm keen on the lapierre frames, I'd still keep a look out for them. Nukeproof is a good shout, that does seem a good deal too but it is a stretch to far I think. I like the new shape commencal metas too and I did find a specialised enduro for sale but I did some digging and found a picture of a large dent in it which he neglected to mention so I'm not so sure about that particular one. It's just a case of waiting for the right thing to pop up now.
Krisboats
I know it isn't the most recent design, but it's a solid design that pedals really well and rips the downhill. It's an amazing bike to ride, it's a brand new frame and it ends in a few hours... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181333493477?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

Matthew62
I dont know why but every time I see a suspension seat post it makes me laugh. I think it might just be a gravity dropper adjustable seat post rather than a suspension one. I hope so anyway.
AndrewEH1
I think it might just be a gravity dropper adjustable seat post rather than a suspension one. I hope so anyway. There seems to be a lever on the left side of the handlebar, plus a cable going in to the seatpost. Is it just me or does it look like a ladies bike? Or is that just because 29"? Could be wrong though.
