FamilyBiker
well, thats a steerer tube that snaps above the headtube, carbon is making it possible
Ross McArthur
Certainly a novel way to E.T your bike.
dave33
That's what happens when people use them forks without an incert at the top. Andy ford had the same crash last year, top of the steerer just snapped at the headset
weirdoku
Why would someone even attempt a drop off that high with carbon forks? Some people are so stupid.
SamKidney
They would have snapped doing a more "sensible" move without the steerer insert anyway. It was only a matter of time... If he'd had the insert I'm pretty certain they would have held up. Ive snapped alloy/steel steerers doing drops like that before, so its not just down to it being carbon.

monkeyseemonkeydo
Why would someone even attempt a drop off that high with carbon forks? Some people are so stupid. To be honest that's not the time I'd expect the forks to break. Maybe with the front landing heavy but not without any direct impact. I would have expected them to go more from the likes of a hook/tap/gap to front or whatever.
