Echo SL Freewheel

Tensile 96?

not much wrong strength and reliability wise, but the lockring self-loosened on my example after about 3 months and then over the next month would not stay tight. Then it sh*t is guts all over my sidehop preload so I abandoned it to the tool box.

But i reckon i could make it work again if need be. Just gonna superglue the lockring shut like we did to ACS claws back when, after putting new internals in of course.

Gotta love internet hearsay, haha.

It's not hearsay mate, he went ffw in January, and had the pro 2 on up until that point. Chris's freewheel shat itself on a ride we had in Scunthorpe in November, I was there when it happened. Why would I make it up and why is it hearsay? Was only saying how it happened, that's it

How are they though? From what I've seen, it's only the older ones which lasted? These new ones are just shite, I don't trust mine at all.

The tensile on my old adamant I trusted 100%, I think it was coming up to 2 years old and never skipped once on me.

New deng is shite.

What a complete surprise, Mark W wades into a discussion insinuating that one of the local lads is a liar. Its fact what was said about Andy's freewheel!

Awaits comments from Ali C, and rebuke from moderators for daring to cross the popular forum users.

Have to agree, my bulb on the back of my stock is ace. Know it's a bit old like, but you can feel the quality. My tryall ffw isn't doing too badly either, still skip free

think I've seen the tryall ones skip a few times, depends how much power you're putting through

My try all 108.9 hadn´t skipped once in three years, then I sold it and it´s still going strong after another 2, wish I have kept it.

The new Echoes that I've seen break all seem to shatter on the outer ring. I understand that it's probably a small percentage of all the echo freewheels sold that do this but I've seen it happen to 4 in about 6 months which made me dubious when buying a freewheel.

Really? :o I know a mate who runs a try all 108,9 freewheel on his bike, it skips all the time. Sounds so shit aswell!

Ha, seems I don't have to do anything these days to get people slagging me, this is way less effort now!
