Snail cam bolt help?

Hi,

On my sky 2 frame the snail cam 'bolt' (it's not actually a bolt it's welded to the frame) has slightly chipped away/worn down. When I have my wheel lined up after a bout 5 minutes of riding it pops out of place and I have to align the wheel again. Get's very annoying. Wondering if anyone has any ideas of what I can do? I don't want to drill into the frame to replace it with a snail cam bolt.

Thanks

If you were to drill it and couldn't get hold of an M5 tap, you can get away with drilling a 4.5mm hole and not tapping it, simply screw the bolt in (Y). It'll take a little elbow grease to do it, but it works a treat.

Drill it will a pillar drill if you can

Or just send it to jaf?

people like you are whats wrong with trials forum, people give advice and you try and pick up on nitty bitty stuff. what i have written is very clear, and you know what i meant. stop fishing for an argument, and do something constructive instead of being a pleb constantly.

You obviously only see the negative comments I post, and they're not "negative" in a sense,

I've not insulted or offended anyone on here, as I've said before you have insulted and offended me, and I would appreciate it if you would stop insulting and offending me via PM.

Eugh, shut up.

Hmm ok, how would I do it though? Surely if I drilled it, it might crack or something?

Nah not if you do it properly it shouldn't.

Ok thanks my dad has a tap set and it has m5. Do I just drill with a normal drill or is there certain tip I should use?

Drill it 4.2mm for m5

You can use a 4mm as it will cut over size any way

Remember to use some oil or grease when tapping

Are you sure that when you tighten the axle bolt, the snail cams are still hitting the bolt? On my Neon my snail cams screws backwards when I tighten the axle bolts, so I have to hold the snail cam in place while I tighten the axle bolt. I hope that this makes sense haha :)
