Lewis Gething
If you are generally light on your equipment or a young rider or a beginner (which I think you are correct?) then there is absolutely no need to worry about equipment 'snapping'. When I first started, I used Echo SL forks which everyone bangs on about being weak, yet because I was a beginner I needn't not worry
AkuskaUK
I'm a beginner and currently using 2013 Echo Urbans, they are a tiny but flexy (could be due to my echo headset bearings blown) but they are still strong with practising gaps to front! I had SL's but sold them due to A LOT of flex.
Callum219
I've just been and swapped my old try-all wheel for a pair of urban 09, well chuffed. only paid £25 for them and he's only used them a handful of times. I've also ordered a new gold echo sl headset! will put some pictures on when all back together. Thanks for the advice guys!

williams
09's Echo Urbans are awesome! I love mine and wouldn't change them for any other fork really. I've had mine since may and they're still going strong. I do g-turns etc and have used both saints and other brakes all with 180mm rotors. They ARE strong. Onza pro, Onza cromo, echo SL, echo urban 2012, koxx forx, monty 221, echo urban 09, and a few more. Is that enough for you? Edited February 23, 2013 by williams
ghostrider88
By try I don´t mean have a 2hops on friends bike. What I mean is using it for at least few weeks. Urbans are good, but flexy as hell.
williams
I know but I've ridden for atleast 20 minutes on every bike, and I can still tell that my urban forks are the best of them They dont flex

They feel like noodle, every pair I tried and I owned 2pairs for more than 5years together and tried few more. There´s day and night difference between them and tt forks or aprebic forks. They are good forks still, just don´t say they are stiff, because they aren´t.

Dont rate them at all for a rider into their hooks/wodges. Only reason Im on the Urbans I have now is a lack of funds for trialtechs. Need them to last until then so no hooks for me. That´s something unusual though, I weight more than you and I´m trying hooks a lot and they are fine after year of riding. Maybe you just had awful lot of bad luck. But yeah, they are one of the flexier forks out there. For that price though, you cannot expect more.

I dont have the best of luck with bikes at all haha. On my first set of 2012 24" forks I bent them in a matter of weeks, and I only did 4-5 hooks. Second set (2013) bent around the same timescale. 09' vee 20" forks bent in a week... They were all Vee brake forks though, no idea if thats anything to do with it. My 2010/11 4bolt/disc 20" urbans that my bro's now running are close to two years old and they're not bent. Nor are my 09 4 bolt forks. SamKidney
Which just happen to be my old urbans. So there lol The other 3 sets Ive managed to bend indicate otherwise. When I get my Ice back and together I'll put a few hooks through them. Will be interesting to see if these bend or not. Edit: No I wont, I cant afford new ones if they do go Not trying to say Im some beast btw, either Ive been REALLY unlucky or the forks are shit. dann2707
My urbans were spot on for 3 years so does that mean that every pair are fine? I think if somethings notorious for snapping then it's fine to be like that but I dont think urbans have that much of a weak spot?!
