im nearly 6ft but just wondering if its possible for 24" bikes to be too small ? i noticed when i sidehop or pretty much do anything on the back wheel the top part of my back is always sort of curled forwards and when i look at 26" riders they never do this and no matter how i position myself its always the same :S

I'm 6 foot 2 and I ride a mod, I know what you mean about the back being curled.

I think some people just have different postures, don't worry about it.

I may be totally wrong.

I think if you relaxed more you might be a bit better off. Looks like your legs are a little straight which is almost forcing your upper body too far forwards resulting in the bike wanting to fall forwards. I think if you "sat" into it a little more with a more natural bent legs kinda deal then you may find it a little easier.

Also, whilst your bars may not be too extreme and I'm sure someone will slag me for this, your bars almost look a little too far forward for your riding style. it looks like you want to have your arms in a natural "elbows in" position, but then your wrists are being forced into a position that normally makes people ride in an "elbows out" position because of the bars. if you tilted them back a bit you may find that lets your arms act a little more natural and it could actually improve rear wheel control. Forward bars are not an improvement for everyone.

I'm not sure how much this will apply to you given the bike I'm riding but, at 6'5", I used to get a curved back and back pain until I raised the front end up which meant I stood taller on the bike which has allowed a straight back. I wish I had figured this out years ago because I had several years of a fairly substantial lower back issue :(

It seems silly but try rolling your bars forwards to a silly angle, not as bad as Carthy but a fair distance and it should feel better on the rear wheel, although 2 wheel'd control is almost impossible.
Failing that mess around with stems, i had a stock stem on my first echo and taps and to fronts where awesome!

yea was just getting burning pain in back :S at like the point where i was curling all the time

It can be from one of two things, wrong set-up. Or muscle is tired from riding... Change your set-up around a bit if it's really bothering you.
