PaRtZ
Hi guys Got caught doing a dodgy overtake at the start of January. Surrended my license a few days later, but not heard anything back - this is now the 4th week. How long does this normally take, as the officer who arrested me said 2 weeks? A friend said he escaped points on his license due to a paperwork error that they couldn't process it. Im wondering if this is the case as the woman who wrote my details down when I surrended the license made an '8' look like a '6' (saying i was born in 1968)... thanks
george_seamons
HIGHLY suggest you sign up to www.peipoo.com/forums. They will help you far more than anybody on here will (it is full of lawyers, police, ex-police etc). "Pub lawyers" and "my-mate-says lawyers" are a very bad thing to go by, you need to be 100% sure the advice you receive is accurate. From memory, they say to allow up to 6 weeks for the license to come back. What happened exactly? Did you get a fixed penalty notice? If not, you will be summonsed to court, and they have up to 6 months lay the information, and then a "reasonable time" to set the court date, so you may be in for the long haul! I've had to surrender my license twice. The first time it came back within a week, the second time it took nearer 7 weeks. By the way, you won't have been "arrested", you will just have been cautioned ("You do not have to say anything, but what you do say...blah blah blah").
