biking-and-stuff
will this chain fit a trials bike? it says it is a bmx chain i was just wondering if it would fit onto my m.a.d. phase 1.1? http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=46498
Ali C
I would advise you to stay clear of half link chains, they have bent plates which tend to want to be straighter when used with high torque, which means they stretch loads then snap. For the best chain going, get yourself one of these http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/chains/kmc_z610_hx_332_inch/c7p11539.html

Danny00135
It depends what size sprocket/freewheel you have, there'll be people saying stay away from half links though.. theyre snap happy KMC Z610 HX seems to be a very popular chain in trials, very strong EDIT: Damn Ali beat me to it :/ Edited February 10, 2013 by Danny00135
BradJohnson
Another vote for the KMC Z610.

cai
These are a good shout too: http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/chains/kmc_z510_18_inch/c7p11566.html I run them as they are £6 cheaper than the Z610 HX, and are nearly as good. Change them every 3-4 months, and fit them correctly (by either using the split link provided, or taking your time and lining everything up correctly when joining it back together) and you won't have an issue with snapping chains anymore
dave33
Just order the 610 from chain reaction the are £9 and save yourself a £5 every time I personally would avoide a half link chain. ghostrider88
Tarty do Pricematch and you're unlikely to want to return a chain. Especially after shortening it lol.
dave33
No maybe not a chain. But if you can't decide between some stuff you can order both, have a look then decide which you want then you can return what you don't want totally free and not out of pocket on postage twice. Was very helpful when I got some gloves but wasn't sure on size. So just send what didn't fit back Other shops are available
Ali C
I've never used the free returns thing with Chainreaction anyway, seems like hassle when I could save time and just spend a pound or two instead.

Luke Rainbird
Somehow I doubt that... With regards to the free returns thing though, I've not used the CRC system but assume it's similar to the generic Collect+ type affair? If so, provided there's a collection point nearby it's actually a surprisingly good system from a buyer's perspective. Just be nice if there were a few more collection points
CurtisRider
CRC use collect+ and yeah it works well I have a collection point a few minute walk away luckily!
cai
Chain Reaction Cycles KMC Z610 HX 3/32" Chain = £9.99 Postage = Free Total = £9.99 Tarty Bikes KMC Z610 HX 3/32" Chain = £14.00 (reduced to £9.99 when using price match) Postage = £3.00 (Royal Mail 1st Class, the cheapest postage option available) Total = £17.00 (reduced to £12.99 when using price match) ..I fail to see how purchasing that chain from Tarty Bikes is the better option here, especially when the price at Chain Reaction Cycles drops down to £7.99 if you buy three or more of that chain
Mark W
Our price match includes the delivery price, so it'd be £9.99 posted, or £7.99 if you ordered 3 or more. Dave, if you really want to f**k us over, order a shitload of those chains and you can actually make us lose money...
