forteh
I'm riding from London to Brighton overnight on ther 12th July this year, riding for the Alzheimer's Society and looking for sponsorship! My uncle suffered from dementia and died after a 20 year decline, my dad is now going in the same direction, so this is just as good a cause as any. Ive never ridden a serious road route before and my fitness levels are below minimal right now so I've got a bit of work to do! Going to be riding my santacruz chameleon, 5" forks, 1x9 drivetrain, flat pedals and all, only change will be a pair of slicks to help with the rolling Even if you donate 50p it's all going to add up so get your wallets out http://www.justgiving.com/Ed-Emuss Thanks in advance

N.Wood
I would but I'm doing the daytime one on the sunday so need all that sponsorship myself Night one sounds interesting, you done it before (day or night)?
Jake.
Get cleats you can, I rode to my aunts which is in North London and I'm basically next to Brighton. It took 10 hours and around 110 miles, wearing the proper kit does help!
N.Wood
The route for the ride is 58 miles from clapham common to brighton sea front, which route did you go to almost double the distance?
forteh
Dave marshall wins first donation prize, cheers fella - my seatpost won't go any higher, feet won't reach the floor! I've not done it before so should be a good challenge, doing it over night will just add to that! I've considered cleating in, but that would mean the additional cost of the spds and shoes, also I'm not going to be trying to set any records, riding with my fiance who hasn't ridden a bike in over 7 years so the pace shouldn't be quick Nick, sponsor me and I'll sponsor you equally
Tom Booth
Good luck man, I've done the great notts bike ride a few years on the trott and love it. Just pace yourself and enjoy it

forteh
So nothing? Thanks to Dave Marshall and Tom Booth so far, the rest of you must all be too tight to even give a quid to charity
monkeyseemonkeydo
You're still beating Charlotte but that's not saying much. I'm shocked and appalled! Work that social media!
ogre
I'll lend you cleats if you fit a size 11.

I know, she's most upset! Unfortunately, shes not been on a bike for 8 years, picked up a hybrid the other week and she's smashing out 20 mile rides without so much as a single ache I will be spamming facebook, hopefully I get some more sponsorship, otherwise I will have to make it up to the 300 quid minimum out of my own pocket! I'll lend you cleats if you fit a size 11. Fat chance, I'm a measly 8 1/2, cheers for the offer though
