You're gonna have to explain how it works for me Dave as it looks backwards.

I assume the hex is to grip with a spanner/adjustable but it looks like it's on the wrong side to fit the notches onto the sprocket teeth??

The second picture has a sprocket in it :)

Correct, but that doesn't explain how it is removed.

After a closer look though I understand, at first glance the 2nd pic looked like the tool was sat on the top and the circles were the heads of the splines sitting on top of the sprocket. I think an angled picture from the side would have shown it better for me personally.

Must admit looking at it on a mobile phone doesn't help though!

urm are you joking?

you put it on the sprocket like you would a socket and nut, bolt either put a spanner on the hex or put it in the vice and turn anti clockwise and heypresto its off

the hole in the middle is to allow it to ne bolted to the axle with an end cap i made

No I wasn't. The first picture looked like the welds around the outside were the splines that sit in between the sprocket teeth which confused me.

As I said, looking at it on my mobile didn't help as the image was tiny and hard to see.

I've got one similar somewhere for a 13T but it doesn't really help that much because gripping the sprocket isn't usually the problem it's getting enough leverage to undo it.

Get a longer lever on your spanner
