JD™
Depends, a lot of the people who complain about there being no opportunities work 8 hour days (excluding their lunch), but the ones who are making shit happen generally work smarter for longer
shercofray
I work 8.30 - 5 with a one hour lunch Monday to Friday 7.5 hours a day. 37.5 hours a week.
N.Wood
My office days are 9 - 5 with half hours lunch, on site can be from 8 hours to 14 hours, depends on what needs doing. Overtime is paid after 10 hours.

It's the same wherever you live in Europe. Give or take an hour or two. Some people do 6 days a week out of choice, others not. You can even get by on a 30 hour week, if you really wanted, but the hourly rate would probably need to be £10 an hour...
Max Quinn
Speaking of which, when did 9-5 morph into 9-6 all of a sudden?
bing
I do 5:45am to 6pm, 48 hours one week, 36 hours for another 2 weeks on days, then I switch to night shift for the same rota. I always get paid for 40 hours, never have to work a Friday on rostered hours, or a weekend, and only work every 3rd Thursday. If I do Thursday 12 hours, and Friday 8 hours, on a 3 day week, i get my 40 hours basic, plus 20 hours time and half. It's bloody brilliant. isitafox
I average 35hrs a week though that is based on a 24 week roster. Some weeks I actually do 32hrs, others I do 60hrs.
