Jamie_Trials
About 4 months ago my frame cracked on a ride, got a job shortly after and I never really had the time to sort it out. Last month I sent it to Jaf bikes and he patched my akali up. Also got a new starnut replacement for trialtech forks with sloped topcaps, works a treat The rest of the bike looked a bit tacky though so I gave it a spray, and bought it some new parts Had my first ride back today, little bit sketchy at times and managed to scratch it already but I'm happy to be back on the bike. Here's some pics Thank god for Jaf bikes! Start off with the crack on the headtube, sad times, not quite sure when it happened, guessing its from gapping down to front though Sent it to Jaf bikes and he did a sound job! New starnut too, works a treat for trialtechs with sloped top caps... Decided it needed spraying again, it looked shattered so I started to sand it. Spraying time, undercoat. HI CHARLIE Pink to make the boys wink, red to colour in your shed. Looked a bit boring so I added some graphics, to do the curly part I got the margin of a piece of paper, hah, looks decent though IMO. The extra bits of paper came off after but I didn't wanna risk messing it up cause it wasn't exactly 100% dry I found out shortly after. CalRobbo341
Wasn't expecting that at all, looks lovely and Josh is definitely getting better at the carbon wrap stuff, looks a little like the red Speedrace Frames.
N.Wood
It looks like there are carbon fibres sticking out all over the shop - Is that the case? My knees quite often rub the top tube if I'm standing about. Not sure on the black stripes / fade but other than that looks cool.
Jamie_Trials
Hah, there is, not really sure how I should handle that really though, burn it slightly? It hasn't been a problem today but I suppose it would be nice to get rid of the fray

alecwray
fair enough this is getting you back on your bike if you cant afford a new frame but gettin a crack repaired then hiding it under the carbon in mental dunno whats going under there but shame about your frame always liked them
Rob Leech
fair enough this is getting you back on your bike if you cant afford a new frame but gettin a crack repaired then hiding it under the carbon in mental dunno whats going under there but shame about your frame always liked them Due to it's ridigity and high tensile strength, the carbon is used as a structural aid to help prevent the frame from failing again, absorbing the stresses put through the frame that caused the original failure to form .
Jamie_Trials
Yeah, I do trust it and I suppose that's important, I could of bought a new frame, but what's the point when it's a nice frame, it may of cracked but it lasted over a year of abuse
