trialsiain
Hi just wondering if it is defintly the small starnut that fits trialtech forks for sloping stem ? also how do you cut it at the exact right angle for stem ?
Kevinfor
I dont know about the star nut but when it comes to cutting why not just put the stem on the fork (set up straight obviously no going back when you start cutting) and just take a pen or a nail and make a mark all around the tube.
LiamWood!
I'd get someone to help you if you needed to ask how to cut it sloping.
Jake.
Best way to do it is put it in its side in a vice and cut it diagonally I think.
Blake
If you're going to do it in a vice, but it in at an angle so you cut parallel to the jaws of the vice.

Blake
How does that work? Place the steerer in the vice at angle, sorry that wasn't very clear. Put the steerer in at an angle then hold the saw parallel to the vice jaws.
Jake.
Place the steerer in the vice at angle, sorry that wasn't very clear. Put the steerer in at an angle then hold the saw parallel to the vice jaws. How can you put it in an angle though? The vice will clamp it to be straight anyway and if you cut it parallel to the vice it would make it a straight cut? Not sloping. Edit: unless I'm missing something or you're not getting it from your brain to words correctly lol Edited January 30, 2013 by JMCD

Jake.
Oh. Makes sense. My idea is basically put the steerer in line with the clamps, the 2 fork blades in line with each other vertically. Then cut the steerer at what angle you want.
FamilyBiker
angle grinder and tape to mark the cut?
