Prove it? It's a reasonable assumption to make IMO, 11% (371,000 of the 7,012,000 migrants here) is mentioned in loads of sources. If that many are claiming some form of benefits, then the other 89% aren't?

"I don't like apples" does not mean "I do like oranges".

There are other options that aren't covered by "being on the dole" and "being in legitimate employment".

Point being, Dave didn't say benefits, he said resources. Those surviving on a life of crime, for instance, won't be covered by your stat, but will still be draining resources in terms of the policing that is paid for by the tax that those people don't pay. Example only of course.

Ah yeh I guess, but even if it's as high as 50% who are costing more than they contribute, that still means this new test is harder for the other 50% who are decent people.

Just seems like a solution that isn't precise enough. It'll make the entire group's lives harder in an attempt to filter out the scum. (Ignoring of course that people who head over here for a life of crime are more likely to come in illegally).

Still bordering on f**kwittery IMO.

Yup don't neccesarily mean claiming benefits. More like for example an area that has a large foreign community be it Polish, Russian, Pakistani, etc that weren't born here all need to go to a dentist somewhere, at some point they'll probably need treatment in hospitals, sending kids to schools which are already full to the brim and so on and so forth.

Also a report showed that whilst only 6.4% of the benefit claimants in the country were foreign nationals when they came to this country (as of Feb 2011) it would appear that migrants into this country are more likely to be in work than British people. Taking into account the lazy f**kwits of the world who'll do anything not to have to work that's still a considerable amount of jobs that are made unavailable for people who have been here all their lives.

Why do we need more people coming into the country anyway?

You have failed the practice citizenship test.

Questions answered correctly: 9 out of 24 (38%)

I honestly thought I guessed more than 9 correctly. Maybe people applying for British citizenship should gain citizenship if they get 10 or fewer. If they know the answers then they're obviously not British.

There's nothing on culture & hobbies. I.e. what tradition meal is eaten on Sundays, or what do brits like to complain about (that could be a long one)

What a heap of shite... I do not see how someone being able to answer those questions means they are automatically suitable to be citizens in this country? I am all for immigration, in all forms, as long as it is for the benefit of all involved but I do not see this test being in any way a good addition to immigration policy...? Only perceived benefit is that it may act as a test of one's ability to read and understand English?
