Mike Beck
Alright lads I recently purchased a hope tech lever of eBay in the ad he said it was in good working order I received it today and the piston seems to be seized in the lever I.e u can't pump the lever can I send it back to hope to be fixed ? Any ideas would be appreciated . I found it quite funny when I messages the lad and said about it being seized and he said it needs fluid in it for the lever to work and if I looked at the piston u will see we're iv used plyers to bleed it ! Needless to say I was astonished it turns out he is just a boy ! Figures

Blake
if he's used pliars to bleed it is there the possibility of there being a scratch in the bore?

Blake
You can tell right Tristan still riding then ? I hope not that will mean a new lever body ? It will if it's scratched badly enough but then you could get your money back. I imagine it won't cause such a beef with a disk brake as you use a thick fluid in them
Azarathal
Dot5.1 has a really low viscosity, thinner than mineral oil isn't it?
Mike Beck
It's nothing to do with the fluid it's jammed in there lol
dezmtber
If the piston is jammed in the back, check the resevoir cap seals if you really struggle to get the cap seal back on he has contaminated the seals with dot 5 or mineral oil.
