Joshm1991
I'm changing my Phase to a FFW running the typical 18 front and 15 rear. I'm currently running a single wheel tensioner on the standard 22 18 set up with a pro 2 on the back. Would I need a twin wheel tensioner to run it FFW without it jumping all over the place? Cheers Joosh
AndrewEH1
You are using a Hope Pro II with a freebody? You really need to get a fixed rear hub if you want FFW. I have no idea about chain tensioners...
trialsquirt
yes you would. but unless there is something wrong with your pro 2 i wouldn't change it
Joshm1991
No no.. I think I've confused people.. Again! I've bought a wheel with a fixed rear sprocket so that's going on instead of the Hopey! The Pro 2 isn't the trials one unfortunately.. It's just the XC one with half the engagement points! So I'm getting rid of it to go FFW! But I would need a twin wheel tensioner yeah? Joosh Edited January 23, 2013 by Joshm1991
Danny00135
For a sprocket at that size to avoid skips a tensioner with two jockey wheels is advised, It gives more chain wrap, you can get away with a single wheel on a larger sprocket since it's wrapped around more... Joshm1991
Yeah that's what I had thought!! Thanks for clearing it up for me guys!! all your knowledge clearly surpasses mine!! Joosh
ghostrider88
Build it up and you will find out, with certain cs lenght you might get away with 1jockey tensioner...If you are unsure, just post pics of your bike and we will tell you
Joshm1991
Cheers guys! I'll have to wait till my parts arrive to build it up but I think I'm just going to get a twin jockey wheel one anyway just to save the mishap of it one day slipping that once! Thanks again! dave33
You can always use a rear mech if you got one spare
