TykeTrial
Great meeting today at the AGM. Loads of changes ... The club year will in future run from July to June, with this first year of the change running for an 18 month period from January 2013 to June 2014 so loads of trials to go at in there! This means in the future that the final trial of the season will be held at the annual Brimham 2-day event, along with future Annual General Meetings, and the presentation of the the Annual Trophies - so you no longer have to wait 6 months to get the previous year's awards. In addition, the club is spreading the trials area to include venues in the Sheffield / Derbyshire area. Don't worry, if you can't travel far then you will only need to ride at a certain number of events out of the total club events. Dates for 2013 are set so you can put them into your diaries, but the planned venues are still provisional until all the landowners have been contacted. Rnd 1 - 24th February 2013 - Shipley Glen Rnd 2 - 10th March 2013 - Sheffield/Derbyshire area Rnd 3 - 14th April 2013 - Addingham Moorside Rnd 4 - 19th May 2013 - Sheffield/Derbyshire area Rnd 5 - 29-30th June 2013 - High Wood Farm, Brimham Rnd 6 - 18th August 2013 - Sheffield/Derbyshire area Rnd 7 - 22nd September 2013 - Branshaw OR Lee Mill Quarry Rnd 8 - 27th October 2013 - Bracken Rocks Rnd 9 - 24th November 2013 - Harden Moor Rnd 10 - 29th December 2013 - Shipley Glen Dates for 2014 to complete this first 18month season will be released in December 2013 after the National dates have been announced. As you can see, that's a pretty full calendar for you all to get in plenty of practice for the Nationals, and at a brilliant range of venues! As you can tell from the dates, we're trying to keep you going throughout the year without leaving any blank spots! Hope all the members approve! The 2013 membership form will be ready soon, be sure to fill it in and send it off as soon as possible to make sure you get all the up to date information. Looking forward to a great year for trials. http://www.biketrialuk.co.uk/tyketrial.htm
isitafox
I like the expansion to cover over this way, hopefully I will be getting a few comps in this year after all!
bing
Has anybody heard any progress on the Shipley glen front yet? Is the comp still going ahead?
Callum219
I think it's wrong to be honest, we've rode there for years
Danny00135
I think it's wrong to be honest, we've rode there for years That's the problem, There was only permission for riding when there are comps, because people are riding every weekend the problem has occoured.. Places open and close for bike trials, there's nothing we can do about it
bing
I'd like to see if anybody has complained about the vast number of dog shit spreading dog walkers on there, or about horses, or normal mountain bikes for that matter. One suspects not
CalopS
I think they said it wasn't specified what kind of bikers the complaint was made against. There's always lots of xc and downhill guys there.
shercofray
I think Sam k said on the other thread it was relating to mtbers
SamKidney
Mtbers altering the trails. Also, there seems to have been a recent increase in the number of mototrial bikes being ridden down in the woods. Been present for the last few times I've been anyway. dngr2self
Can you just get a day membership to ride 1 event to see whether not you want to ride more comps? A friend of mine asked me yesterday so I said I'd ask.
trials26
Hi yes you can get a day membership (DM) to ride the one comp, when you turn up just have to pay the DM fee and the entry fee together, complete the form etc. But I believe, if you are wanting to do any more after that one, it's prefered that you take out an annual membership. - worth it, good fun! isitafox
Can I enquire about the long trouser thing, is that a new requirement this year or just for this trial?
bing
Nah you'll be fine in shorts. It a parental guidance thing lol. Most of the lads wear shorts and base layer trousers
Robin M S/c
Only helmets are compulsory. I have just used the std Tyke Trial Entry form. Shorts are OK (if your brave enough with the UK weather)!
