0zzy
what does riding brakeless have to do with this? we were talking about this new braking surface..
ghostrider88
why use a worse brake? magura with a grind is by far the most superior brake for trials. It isn´t.
0zzy
It isn´t. is that why the majority of trials bikers in the world use one?
ghostrider88
Majority of stock riders...And it´s not because of disc brakes not beeing powerful enough.
Savage
Can the coating be put on a magnesium rim? I think it's a brilliant idea and I'll defo be getting it done at some point.

0zzy
its because of spoke flex.. yeah i know. i think at least 75% of riders use at least 1 magura..
ghostrider88
Yes spoke flex and of course the most important thing, weight (A) Funny thing is, they don´t use vees which are more powerful yet lighter, easier to maintain/setup etc.
Ali C
78% of 100% of people who tried a V brake thought it was 42% more powerful than a 100% set up Magura

Doesn't mean it's true though. why would they use a worse brake through choice?

dngr2self
It'd be interesting to see if peoples opinions change after seeing the pros using this. I reckon if you could get rims off the shelf like this it might be a better option as it'd be less messing about and cheaper probably.

dave33
Yea it's good for learning to have a shit bike, and I don't really mess about with my brake when I'm just out practicing as yes it's nice to make what ever move easily and not landing like a sack of shit an your brake just holding But when it comes to a comp I grind my rim ready so my brake is as good as it can be. But there is no need to be negative(said this already) if it's not for you then don't spend your whole day posting negative and stupid arguments on here. Just read and keep it to yourself I havnt seen any one slagging off carbon bars just because they have alloy bars and can't justify spending out of expensive bars ? Same this here Edited January 22, 2013 by dave33

Revolver
why use a worse brake? magura with a grind is by far the most superior brake for trials.. Is it? Depends on what you're after. With a disc, you don't need to worry about buckling your wheel, and you don't have to worry as much about setting up after you take the wheel out. Disc brakes are much more convenient. bing
not having that argument at all. my rear saint on my mod will outperform any Magura and pad combination in any weather. I know because I've done it. no way can a Magura have more bite and hold than a well bedded in disk brake
