dannytrialskid
Anyone know where I can get Magura HS33 2005 pistons from? Tarty bikes don't sell them anymore, can't find any on eBay or Chain Reaction Cycles
trials owns
Yeah, I need too know this aswel
LEON
I'm pretty sure they're the same piston as the '04 and the '11 brake if that helps.
isitafox
Now this is something I'm surprised no manufacturers have caught on and produced some machined alloy piston kits. Surely they would be cheap enough to mass produce and would be a great upgrade for anyones brake to prevent the old swelling piston issue or would they not work?? dann2707
I think they'd score the cylinder? Don't count me on that though.
SamKidney
Run two o rings. One nearer the front of the piston and one to the rear. Would prevent any metal/metal contact.
Azarathal
Also provide a better seal but add more friction. Although friction isn't an issue for me, I use a metric f**ktonne of Vaseline on my lever piston. (all I had at the time except some 20year old lithium grease which is full of lumps and other shit)
SamKidney
Likewise. I cover the piston and cylinder in lithium grease before every rebleed after a good clean. Keeps it smoooth.
AdamR28
Tarty bikes don't sell them anymore Magura have never sold them separately - we split levers apart as people wanted bodies and pistons/springs - they actually told us off for doing it. Ended up with a shedload of lever blades left over, but hey ho...

dannytrialskid
Yes, they do actually, forgot about those! Cheers. They fit the magura 05's? Most probably a really stupid quesiton but, do you have to do anything different with the echo piston or do you just put them in like you do with the normal magura piston? AdamR28
It's pretty much exactly the same item, so yes it will fit, and no you don't do anything differently.

From the point of a consumer would you say the echo pistons are actually any good? Both my TR levers leaked from the piston (despite the lipseal being set correctly)
