Speedrace Solo 2010 - chain tension/brake alignment issues

Been having some real trouble with brake alignment and chain tension on my speedrace solo 2010 26" frame. I thought I would have fixed the problem by using a half link in the chain but now the wheel is pulled so far back that it the hs33 brake clamps be pulled all the way down and the slaves have to be positioned at a silly angle in order for the pads not to hit the tyre. Without the half link the chain is really tight and the snail cams cannot be used to tension the wheel.

Another issue I found with this frame is that the brake mounts are do not have enough depth - the bolt bottoms out before it holds the brake clamps. Stripped one of the mounts as a result of this. Feel like i'm having a nightmare -has anyone had any similar problems?

I don't particularly fancy using a sprung or spoke tensioner as then it would be pointless to be using a frame with horizontal drop outs.

had exactly the same issue on my solo mod. I ended up slamming the wheel in the dropouts and using a spoke tensioner.

Speedrace cant align brake mounts for shit!

Yup I had the exact same problem with my solo mod and the brake mounts. Ended up riding it without cams with the wheel pretty much slammed in there though I had to pre stretch a chain on my 24 to get it to work properly.

I had this problem so a used half link chain and changed rear cog to 16 tooth on the back sorted it out and made the bike ride a lot nicer
