isitafox
Applying for a new job and my ready filled in application form and CV has gone walkabout so I need to write a new one. Can anyone recommend a half decent outline I can follow/edit my info into??
ashleys sugden
get a template off google, always a good one to work from http://www.totaljobs.com/careers-advice/cvs-and-applications/which-cv at the right, download one, if it doesnt look good, just try another
JD™
Just please god make it no more than 2 pages, preferably 1. Take out anything that isn't relevant to the job, because the person viewing it doesn't care. I received a 9 page CV last month, I nearly cried before I realised I could just delete it instead of read it.
isitafox
Don't worry it will be the bare minimum. It's a load of crap really as the application form I have to fill out with it asks questions to see if I will be suitable to do the job I'm already doing and it will be going forward to my manager as he's the manager of the signalbox I'm after a move to. HR really know how to make a meal of things here!
JD™
Typical case of trying to make themselves feel busy enough for their wage! Good luck with the application though
dann2707
I'll send you mine tomorrow if you want? Just had it completely amended by the university for applying to Placements next year Our uni is the leading placement office and has won awards on the trot for being bad ass. Mine looks pretty proffesh, shame about the shit grades though. Yeah anymore than 2 pages and it looks gash.
isitafox
Just sorted it, found a website from the government which basically gives you a form to fill in with all your details then it automatically puts it all together for you to download as a word document or pdf. Like I said it doesn't matter too much as I'm already doing the exact same job, just really to tick the box of CV enclosed until they redo the application process yet again.
