Laurence--Trials
I'm after some new shimano saint pads and i want to upgrade so to speak. I always thought disc pads were the same compound but at different prices but recently i got told they're all different hardnesses and stuff. I'm after THE softest shimano saint pads available, wear life doesn't bother me. I've been told i should get superstar pads by one person and told to avoid them by someone else. Thoughts? Laurence--Trials
Where can i buy some?
dezmtber
Any pad that states its organic or semi metalic. If its sintered or for dh use it will be made for high speed hot braking.
ghostrider88
Semi metalic pads are much worse than organic ones.

Laurence--Trials
Not the right pad type Unfortunly i'm after some like this: @ghost and dez. Thanks but i knew i was after organic pads, i'm just not sure which organic pads to get.
Ali C
I've never noticed a difference between organic or sintered personally

bike_dummie
Ebc pads are meant to be good with a wide range of compounds including organic (green) and a red compound which I am unsure what it is but it has on off power as I read on dh forums it locks the wheel straight away at the high speeds the roll at! Think Ben at trials addict uses this compound so I have been told.
Laurence--Trials
Oh right, i'll ask ben then, i talk to him quite alot

williams
I've heard that the nukeproof saint pads (think that's the right name) is awesome:)
Greetings
What does organic actually mean? Are they made out of rotted vegetables or some other type of compost? But yeah, it seems organic give more stopping power, metalic are better for downhill and related sports.
ben_travis
From memory the saints come bog standard with sintered pads. If you have a clean or brand new rotor (i didnt first time round...NOOOOOB), then no brake from my memory comes straight out of the packet and works like a Shimano Saint Why you'd even consider changing the pads from the standard spec pads is beyond me. I don't even see how you could improve on the hold this brake has?
ghostrider88
You can improve it by changing pads Sure they are great even with stock pads, but with organics they are even better
ben_travis
you lot need to shift some weight after your festive holiday munching and then the standard pads would be more than apt at the job given to them
ghostrider88
I´m sure Laurence at his mahoosive 125lbs has a lot of weight to drop
