isitafox
Is dan still sending you some steel bolts? Just clean the thread with them. What bike shop did you try? If it was Mark Anthonys I wouldn't worry, he's a berk!
ashleys sugden
Would I be able to turn down the axle 1 or 2mm to get to a good thread again? Is dan still sending you some steel bolts? Just clean the thread with them. What bike shop did you try? If it was Mark Anthonys I wouldn't worry, he's a berk!Yeah it was aha, I just need to try everything before I order one, and I don't really see the point in buying a brand new BB when I've just bought new bearings for the one I have Edit: yeah Dan has sent me some Edited January 4, 2013 by ashleys sugden

stunt man t
http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/images/custom/bbs/large_echourban3.jpg looking at the cross cut of the bb even if you tuck some off, the bolts wudnt screw down far enough unless you used washers...... which I WOULDNT! ashleys sugden
lets face it you've tried it all, you either have to accept the bb is dead, but your best option is to run a tap through it to re new the threads then the bolts should go in fine! from you video though it looked like you ripped some threads off?! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HSS-Tap-Set-M15-x-1-0-15mm-/290831767895?pt=UK_BOI_Metalworking_Milling_Welding_Metalworking_Supplies_ET&hash=item43b6ec9957 screw thathttp://www.tartybikes.co.uk/images/custom/bbs/large_echourban3.jpg looking at the cross cut of the bb even if you tuck some off, the bolts wudnt screw down far enough unless you used washers...... which I WOULDNT! ah ok, if my dad cant bring a 15mm tap from work i will have to buy another, is any getting rid of a second hand one? i cant afford to buy a new one ideally :/

bing
Facing 1mm off the end of the axle will make feck all difference. You need to clean the thread out properly, by getting a bb tap. Pretty sure it's m15 x 1.0 but you need to be gentle, and not go writhing at it. But go to a proper bike shop for it. In fact, try and get it down to dez in congleton, he'll be able to sort it for you
Azarathal
Cut the head off a steel crank bolt, cut a slot in the cut end and (if you crank is hollow) thread it in the good side using the screwdriver, and out the other end as a make do tap. Not sure if this actually works, just a thought I had
