dave33
I'd say that some times the elite sections are much nicer than the expert or intermediate sections. Just a much bigger side hope or gap. But maybe less tech. There are some really tricky bits in the lower levels that would catch out alot of riders in the elite and expert sections

N.Wood
Like what? ... dealing with slippery surfaces / not having enough room to do what you want / having to do opposite sidehops / uphill or bumpy run ups / avoiding obstacles within run ups / hopping accurately onto a thin root or rock / and the main thing is the endurance. Each comp is different so its impossible to explain exactly what will come up, but I agree with Dave there are always little annoying bits that are difficult to over come even though they're not big moves. If you're a street rider you'll be thinking 'well I will just be able to sidehop over it so it doesn't matter' but it doesn't work like that. dann2707
Definitely. The bits that always get me are the downhill and uphill courses, it's all well and good if you can sidehop and pedal hop up something bar height when you're level. But bring camber into the equation and it's crazily harder.
ChrisTrials2012
I'm gonna be working on my fitness and learning to go to crank, pedal or bash/strategic dabs, as well as pushing to get up bigger things clean.

Get out and find some grass banks and muddy rocks. Maybe a stream with rocks and practice your two wheels movements up and down the banks and over rocks

Its too big to go slowly up it, but practising putting down power in a small space will be good.

I normaly find my fitness is poor at the start of the season and half way through iv got a nice level of fitness
