JT!
So I was watching batman, dark knight rises on bluray, I was really annoying me that the move kept switch back and forth from 16:9 to letterbox. My question is why?
chimpanzyyyy
that's something to do with your tv settings right?
AndrewEH1
This was something I noticed too... I believe it has something to do with not all of the film being shot in IMAX, so shifts between 35mm and IMAX, 70mm, footage. If I recall, most of the talking parts were shot in 35mm. Mikee
Yes, above about the IMAX is right. Most of the dialogue scenes were in 35mm because IMAX cameras are to noisy. And then there are shot that are impractical for IMAX cameras as they are also very big and heavy. The dark knight bluray was the same (shifting between widescreen and 16:9), but not as many scenes were done in IMAX.
