Danny00135
I normally use grease for any metal to metal contact.. Lithium grease should be used when lubricant is required, for threads copper slip is advisable since it's just to "get it on" if that's the best way to say it.. Sorry if that made no sense.. it's a little late and i'm tired :wink2:
trials owns
Bro has a massive pot of copper grease, I will just put that on instead cheers Edited January 1, 2013 by trials owns
Jake.
I tend to use any type of grease I can find before putting pedals on, ffws etc... Maybe not always the right one, but it's better than direct metal to metal contact.
trials owns
Ah ha, Thanks. longs its not strictly one grease then all good!
Jake.
Don't hold me to that though, best to make sure it's the right grease for the job. Copper slip seems to be the most popular, but I use this blue stuff my dad has. He uses it on everything so I just copied him lol.

Danny00135
you can use lithium grease on threads, but copper grease shouldn't be used where lithium is more appropriate.. ie you shouldn't put copper grease on say an axle.. Edit: This is what my dads had drilled into me for many years... Edited January 2, 2013 by Danny00135

Edit: This is what my dads had drilled into me for many years... A lad told me today that cottage cheese, has better lubrication and anti seize properties than anything else on sale today. I trust him as well, he did win the seniors at national level this year Edited January 3, 2013 by bing
