Kieran Morrison
I ordered a rockman manus 2 the other day and I'm not sure if I should order a bashplate or not. If I was to use one, could it potentially crack the frame after some hard hits or does the style of bash plate mount it has stop that? I don't know if a bashring would be enough protection for that area of the frame, I'm left foot forward so if I failed something like a frenchie ( at an angle) would the bashring stop me from hitting the frame most of the time? Any disadvantages of running a plate opposed to a ring? (other than a bit more weight) Cheers for any help
ghostrider88
If you are worried about hitting the chain buy downtube protector, not a bashplate that will transfer all impacts to the frame
Jake.
I run only a bashring, and have done for 2 years now... I'm left foot forward and it's fine, just use a bashring.
Kieran Morrison
I'll just stick with a bashring and a downtube protector then Cheers
Jake.
If you want to get really anal about it, grind the bashplate mount off too. Just the sticky out bit.
Laurence--Trials
I prefer the bashring to bash plate so much. Use a bashplate as a bigginer by all means but i know you're not so its time for a bashring
Blake
if you fail something like a frenchie at an angle, you tend to just go to crank most of the time anyway.
Kieran Morrison
I've never ran a plate before, always had a bashring but thought it might be a better idea to use a plate with this frame since it's weaker than any I've had before. It's fine though, I'll stick with a ring, thanks for your help
315r
Ring, bashplate in this frame is a bad idea.
