trialstrider24
Got a new bike for Christmas and what is the best way to bed in your disc brakes? Thanks
CalopS
lots of water and a big hill. Pump the brake to avoid glazing over the pads. Edited December 25, 2012 by CalopS

isitafox
Be aware though that echo discs take a bit longer than normal to bed in properly so don't be disheartened if they take a while!
robintrial
would other brake pads work better? my pads were glassy so i removed that layer with some sand paper. then tryed to bed them in again but it just won't work like it should. isitafox
Hope pads are apparently better but it's the disc that is the problem, I think it's harder than the Hope discs which makes it longer though not impossible to bed in and work well. bing
Take the disk off, clean and degrease it, then put a sheet of 600 grit sandpaper on a flat surface, and rub both sides in a circular motion. Just rub hard enough to put small scratches on the surface. This helps bedding in no end in y experience. I found the Clarkes organic pads off chain reaction are the best ones. It's the same pads as a hope mono trial brake. Think they are about £4 at the moment
