Rebelistic
Hi all, sorry for a lengthy post. (that was supposed to be a smile smiley but wasn't and I can't delete it, odd) I currently have a MK1 fourplay that I quite like for street duties. Only thing is I’d love a rear disc, I can’t get on with a magura rim brake these days (never been able to set one up well). I’m pretty happy to carry on with the fourplay as I have only had it 9 months or so and it hasn’t been ridden as much as it deserves. I noticed this thread comparing the Dunce to the Fourplay:http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/topic/170459-ozonys-king-of-dunce-v2-or-fourplay-2011/?hl= king vs inspired It doesn’t really talk much about the geo though more about build quality etc. My fourplay geo is 1035, 385, +35 I think…not too sure of HA The Dunce geo is 1010, 365, +25, 73.5HA The Dunce is also slightly lighter. I’m not overly concerned with strength as I’ve never* really broken a frame but I’d be interested in how it would ride with the geo being slightly shorter (very short chainstays could be good?). I’ve not seen a picture of a Dunce built up as I would have it (most seem to have long stems and tiny front chainrings) and I’ve never met anyone with one. Basically on paper I think the geo sounds nice and it has a rear disc mount and it isn’t too expensive. I’m not a massive fan of the green but it doesn’t look too bad either. Oooh also it has a horizontal dropout so I could loose the tensioner. My other option would be to stick with my current fourplay for a while and then maybe get a custom made frame at some point although I wouldn’t really know what geo to go for. With the Tarty sale on tomorrow it could be a good time to treat myself. Basically I'm just wondering if anyone has ridden one? Is there anything particularly good or bad about them? * well one once but I think that may have been a defect as it hardly got any use before cracking. LEON
Never seen one (helpful I know) But I like the look of them, definitely prefer it to a fourplay. Surprised there aren't more around. I've ridden a mk1 Fourplay and I hated it, bb is way too high, especially with the chainstays being so long & the whole thing is too long for what it's supposed to be, but nowadays the fourplays bb is only +20mm, which is a good height, I'd say +25mm is good too, personally I wouldn't want anything higher. The Ozonys will spin & turn better than a fourplay, with it's super short back end and high bb.
ghostrider88
Should be easier on the back wheel too, so if you want disc brake, it should be good buy. If you want to see it in action I think these Triboulat(spelling?) brothers ride on them. I found vid for you Edited December 24, 2012 by ghostrider88
isitafox
You can get a JAF frame built up for around £350-380ish I think, if it were me I'd go for something like that.

FamilyBiker
i think the people dont buy them cos theyre afraid of the thought to ride like the triboulats then...
Revolver
The geometry on the Ozonys looks pretty good, it's actually quite tempting to buy that as a new frame. Mind you, the 2013 fourplay is only 10mm longer on the back which might be better. If I were in the position to buy a new frame, I'd get the 2013 fourplay. It's an inspired, they're good quality! Rebelistic
Cheers for the replies. I think the Dunce would ride well but after consideration I'm more feeling to go with a custom frame. Probably won't cost too much more and should be exactly as I'd like (I could also avoid the green). I think I'd choose a custom frame over a Fourplay as then I can have shorter chainstays and horizontal dropouts (and maybe tweak the other geo a little to suit me).
