Ozonys Dunce - questions (geo etc.)

Hi all, sorry for a lengthy post. :-

(that was supposed to be a smile smiley but wasn't and I can't delete it, odd)

I currently have a MK1 fourplay that I quite like for street duties. Only thing is I’d love a rear disc, I can’t get on with a magura rim brake these days (never been able to set one up well).
I’m pretty happy to carry on with the fourplay as I have only had it 9 months or so and it hasn’t been ridden as much as it deserves.

I noticed this thread comparing the Dunce to the Fourplay:
http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/topic/170459-ozonys-king-of-dunce-v2-or-fourplay-2011/?hl= king vs inspired

It doesn’t really talk much about the geo though more about build quality etc.
My fourplay geo is 1035, 385, +35 I think…not too sure of HA
The Dunce geo is 1010, 365, +25, 73.5HA
The Dunce is also slightly lighter. I’m not overly concerned with strength as I’ve never* really broken a frame but I’d be interested in how it would ride with the geo being slightly shorter (very short chainstays could be good?).

I’ve not seen a picture of a Dunce built up as I would have it (most seem to have long stems and tiny front chainrings) and I’ve never met anyone with one.

Basically on paper I think the geo sounds nice and it has a rear disc mount and it isn’t too expensive. I’m not a massive fan of the green but it doesn’t look too bad either. Oooh also it has a horizontal dropout so I could loose the tensioner.

My other option would be to stick with my current fourplay for a while and then maybe get a custom made frame at some point although I wouldn’t really know what geo to go for. With the Tarty sale on tomorrow it could be a good time to treat myself.

Basically I'm just wondering if anyone has ridden one? Is there anything particularly good or bad about them?

* well one once but I think that may have been a defect as it hardly got any use before cracking.

Never seen one (helpful I know)

But I like the look of them, definitely prefer it to a fourplay. Surprised there aren't more around.

I've ridden a mk1 Fourplay and I hated it, bb is way too high, especially with the chainstays being so long & the whole thing is too long for what it's supposed to be, but nowadays the fourplays bb is only +20mm, which is a good height, I'd say +25mm is good too, personally I wouldn't want anything higher.

The Ozonys will spin & turn better than a fourplay, with it's super short back end and high bb.

The geometry on the Ozonys looks pretty good, it's actually quite tempting to buy that as a new frame.

Mind you, the 2013 fourplay is only 10mm longer on the back which might be better.

If I were in the position to buy a new frame, I'd get the 2013 fourplay. It's an inspired, they're good quality!

Cheers for the replies. I think the Dunce would ride well but after consideration I'm more feeling to go with a custom frame. Probably won't cost too much more and should be exactly as I'd like (I could also avoid the green). I think I'd choose a custom frame over a Fourplay as then I can have shorter chainstays and horizontal dropouts (and maybe tweak the other geo a little to suit me).
