HarryM1llar
Would you say riding trials will improve your skills in other biking activities, e.g. mountian biking. If so would the frame size have to be fairly similar? e.g. ride trials and bmx=20" trial bike wheel size or Ride trials and Mountain bike= 24", 26" trial bike wheel size? Danny00135
If Chris Akrigg hadn't done trials I doubt he'll have been able to ride like this so I guess so yeah. https://vimeo.com/20601448
HarryM1llar
Yeah you can tell his riding style incorpirates alot of trials moves:)! What im trying to say is does the wheel size you ride e.g. 20, 24, 26... Mean your skills will trasnfer to those sized bikes? for example 20" will benfit bmx'ers, 24" to 26" would benifit more mountain bikers; when off the trials bike? Jake.
Harry, trials will improve bike control across all bikes. One guy I bought a mod off back in 2010, he told me he quit trials for DH biking... He said he had just started out in DH whereas his friends have been doing it for 2-3 years and he can get down the hills faster than them. He reckons that trials gave him the better bike control that gave him the edge over his friends... But yeah, mods don't mix with bmx at all. Stocks don't mix with mtb at all, but it will give you balance for sure. It will also make you more confident and better at maintaining bikes as most bike shops have no clue how to service a trials bike.
HarryM1llar
Thanks for clearing that up jake:) Thought it would benfit bike control! Already pretty good at servicing bike, however have never had to fix a trials bike, looking forward to it:)
Jake.
You're welcome mate, any time you're up for a ride I'll be up for it too most days. And trials is quite unique when it comes to maintenance, but I'll help you if there's anything you're unsure about.
Matt_F
I've found the balance side of things can help when out mtb'ing. Especially at trail centres on tight singletrack.

Jake.
Jordan (showurcolors) are you able to get to Lewes at all? I'd like to show you the spots here so you can decide if you like it enough to ride here often, or if you feel like it's too big then I can tell you when you're at the right skills level to do the gaps and stuff here. I can probably pick Harry up and take him for a Brighton ride if he chucks a few quid my way for fuel and parking.
JDâ„¢
It's pretty unlikely, but if I'm not in a world of pain I would be up for a ride on the 1st. Preferably not Brighton, but I guess it could be done. Edited December 23, 2012 by JDâ„¢

That seems the plan at the mo Also Jake, if it's higher than lower splash wall then there's no point me riding it
Jake.
I can't do the third but I'm up for the 4th, there's stuff smaller than little splash... It's a lot more street stuff.

Jake.
Yeah that's what I heard, not sure I can make it. I'll try I suppose, I'm meant to be seeing a friend I haven't met in 5 years, if the weather is terrible I won't go, if it's good I'll try meet him after the ride. showurcolours
Who's George? Dr Stix? I thought his name was George and he's from Waterlooville? Or have I just imagined this... I work full time so no. I can only ride all day on weekends. Ah damn, would you be up for the 5th though? Either in Brighton again or Worthing (I'd prefer a worthing ride at weekend but that's just my pref~ If everyone wants Brighton then I don't mind riding it again)

I work 6.30am-2.30pm so I could meet you in BTown, but I am not paying for their extortionate parking prices. P.S. Make a topic in the 'Members Organised Rides' section, saves up clogging this topic up. Edited December 26, 2012 by dannytrialskid
