the older sky rim was shit for holding a grind, no way was it as bad as viz, as i had both...

but it was light and pretty strong

the new k2 is ment to be good for holding a grind, but no eyelets and the spokes can pull out. but again very light

the rockma/try all single wall hole style rim, best all round rim but not the lightest

AHA!!

I thought that you was talking about old "hole" style rim when you said that this didn't hold a grind!!!

Then the options are K2 or "hole" try-all / rockman.

Perfect!! Thanks!!

just incase im mixing them up, the sky 2 rim i think its called has the big holes and eyelets but angled sidewalls, this is shit because it wont hold a grind

the even older one is the best one for all round http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/26_inch_rear_rims/rockman_single_wall_rear_26_inch/c25p11274.html

Perfectly understood!

2 options then.

Stronger but heavier, rockman single wall.

Lighter but weaker. K2 try-all.

Same price, more or less hold the grind equal...

if you are a fairly smooth rider for the same price get the K2 they are 'said' to hold a grind better than ours, from what riders at the world cups said.

maybe you could build the wheel with some washers to stop the spokes pulling through? still be very light

best of all then?

Old Try-all Hole rim (Nowar) hold grinds a bit better than the last Rockman rim (I mean the last made by Rockman). Don't ask me why, but I've had 3 or 4 Try-all Hole rims, and I have had 1 Rockman in October-November 2012 and Try-all were better than the Rockman. Also the sidewall on Rockman are smaller ("more difficult" to adjust the pad), but it's still a good rim ;)

K2 actually hold grind very well !! Like the old Try-all Hole I would say. And they are lighter.

As you use the 'external' spoke hole, you'll have no problem to put high tension

I recommand you K2 rear rim ;)

Yes, I listen that rockman don't hold the grind like try-all, really don't know why because looks the same.

Sadly K2 is not available in Spain and if I order it in tarty it cost (20 € / 16,3 pounds) more.. :'(

Exactly my friend, I would have said the same thing about the new Rockman rim. I would add that the K2 rim is actually stronger than the old Try-All Hole No War rear rim, Sky 2 rear rim and Rockman Single Walled rear rim. They are awesome!!!

Sorry mean if you buy from Spain there must be a cost of postage any way ? Unless you collect

The sky rim in your first link is what I'm using with eyelets, no idea it was the same as a VIZ but I used to have that and the sky rim is much better at strength and grind holds in comparison!

Not sure in the new k2 rims.

Old hole/rockman are heavier than what I've got but holds grind better and a tad stronger build wheel wise.
