clerictgm
Guards and janitors in the main. They're usually act like a dicks and conversation with them is a bad idea. Today I was asked to leave spot because "I don't want to be responsible if you get hurt because of your extreme stuff!!!111" said guard. The "extreme" stuff was stuff with maximum height about 1.10m. I've tried to explain that's there are no possibility for me of hurting myself on that spot, but answer I heared: "Go to bmx park!111 blahblahblah". f**k. Jake.
I just leave and vent my annoyance out with my friend talking about how much of a knob they were. Or if they are staying pretty rude stuff to get us to leave, I don't swear but I get back at them. I once got told by a guy at a supermarket to leave and that I had been bothering them for 2 months, I first started using the spot again a week or two ago and hadn't used it since spring. They were saying how I'd broke up their walls when actually a car reversed into it causing the whole wall to collapse. Yeah like I did that. There's a massive triangle section in the car park with a gap to a wall which I ride on, nobody uses it other than me. I'll upload a picture to give you an idea what it looks like. J.KYDD
Its a pain, but at the end of the day if its private property then they are within their right to move you on. People these days are so twitchy about potential law suits if someone injures themselves on their property that any discretion that an individual guard may have has kinda gone out the window. I bearly ride street these days so never really have to deal with it Edited December 19, 2012 by J.KYDD
Nick Manning
Unfortunately you'll never win. I've been given reasons before such as "we don't want you to hurt yourself and sue the company." My response has been "if I hurt myself, then it's my own fault and won't be during anyone". They respond with "we can't accept that and I have been told to move you on". All you can do is move on. Sometimes we've had compliments from the guards and they have been polite, but have said they have been asked to move us. Which is fair enough. Luke Rainbird
Considering how most people are perfectly reasonable/decent when you treat them with an ounce of respect and like a human being, it's rarely an issue. At the end of the day these people are usually just doing their job and you've got to respect that. That's not to say that there aren't the occasional idiots out there, but that's the same in any section of society really.
dngr2self
If the people are polite when they ask then we just say ok and leave. If they act like a dick then I act like a dick. If you argue too much then they just shut you down every time you go back.

dann2707
The Police in Leeds have always been awesome with us, telling us how they love watching but usually they've had a complaint by the building manager that we are there so are obliged to move us on but they are never ever rude. So we're not rude back, as is life.
FamilyBiker
Well you have got a hammer and knife,so... damn you took the wor.....lol to topic: if the people that want you to leave have the authority to do so,theres no way to change it.walk-by people cant tell me what to do,guards can. the main problem in this is that our sport is some kind of niche genre, making it hard to nearly impossible to find legal spots, depending on the area. if theres a lobby for something, theres power to change things.soccer players in my hometown:aprox. 200 guys n gals. trials riders in my hometown:me. 200 people uniting to get a stadium, will get it. we just have to deal with the fact that we arent welcome at our street spots sometimes,or have to invest time and money to build our own spots(indoor etc.) Edited December 19, 2012 by FamilyBiker
showurcolours
@JMCD - hah, totally Jake. Those foreshore inspectors are annoying. I personally think most of them are ok, I've heard about some local guards though who kicked a mate's bike, in which case I would have got out the screwdriver if it was me... But that aside, they tell you to move - you do so... and then in 35 minutes later you return. That's what we do anyways.

Yeah the coastguards who patrol on their quad bikes and community police that seem to march up the beach (where will there ever be trouble at the beach?!) are quite annoying, it's not like we're going to do any damage by riding on the rocks... My local Waitrose is an amazing spot, but the spot is right outside the checkouts window... I used to be able to ride there once the store had shut, but now even the people who stack shelves at night tell us to move. Arrggghhh. This is the spot, further up there's another spot I don't use but it's the bit where the windows are by the checkouts. http://i1061.photobucket.com/albums/t474/JakeeyD/057-1.jpg
williams
I've only been moved once in my whole life. It was while me and 3 mates rode in a underground police car parking spot, the police men's actually just walked out to watch us ride, and gave all sorts of compliments, but 5 mins after when all police men's had left 2 security guards came down and told us that it was a dangerous place while the police clearly said that they liked to see us riding there... They where dicks. Well well, just take your stuff and leave. That's the only time. Police seems to like us and we are nice and polite to them We have of course been shouted at by people who lives close to the spot etc, but since they are so rude we are complete dicks back and it works to get the spot "back". Some of the people say that they're going to ring the police.. Well, they NEVER do it And that, is a good thing with Sweden
