peggysue
Anyone have any tips on keeping it tight ? Yesterday my trialtech forks came , along with new try all 3d stem and rock man sloping top cap . Knocked a new star fangled nut in fitted everything nicely and the steerer is cut to about 2mm from the top of the stem . Both stem steerer bolts are as tight and even as they will go without snapping or threading them . All seems perfect but after 5 mins the headset starts to develop play and can't figure out anything more to do . Anyone else had this problem and solved it ? The echo stem I just took off never came loose Cheers

AdamR28
Steerer hitting against top cap?
peggysue
No I tried it by also adding a 2.5 mm and 5 mm spacer under the stem with the same results so still none the wiser
AdamR28
Cool - try sanding the anodising off the top of the steerer, with an anodised stem and forks it can be pretty slippery.
peggysue
Cool was thinking about the surfaces being a little slippery so ill give it a shot and post back
AkuskaUK
I've had this issue too, it was the steerer being slippery!
