JD™
Currently injected cherry tomatoes with vodka and tabasco sauce, while waiting for some gravestones I've made out of cardboard to dry. Before that I covered every light in the house in green, blue or red perspex. Bring on tomorrow night.

Matthew62
You'll no doubt re-write it all before then, it's the nature of dissertations. At this point of the year in my final year I was writing my initial title which I changed just before Christmas and then rewrote that a few times afterwards. It got written mainly in the last couple of months before it was due.
dann2707
Haha yeah I thought that would be the case butttt I'm way ahead of everyone else in this respect regardless so when it does come to re writing it I won't be too late in the academic year if that makes sense I've literally just woken up my brain isn't at its fully capac just yet haha
dann2707
Really funny moment this morning despite it being 7am! Mum comes running into my room waking me up saying "Dan dan your car alarm is going off i've tried to stop it but it won't do anything". I went "have you pressed the button on the fob?" She said "No no there isn't a button on the keyfob I had to push it in the lock manually" Me "You've got the wrong keys then, mine uses a fob exactly like yours" She does actually have the right keys and is adamant there isn't a button on it. I then go "mum turn the key around" and there they are, the two buttons on the key. She didn't look on the other f**king side of the key hahahahaah what a bafoooooon made my day

You'll want it up and running before Jan/Feb - that's the best time for a hardtail round these parts. What forks did you go for?
Mark W
You'll no doubt re-write it all before then, it's the nature of dissertations. At this point of the year in my final year I was writing my initial title which I changed just before Christmas and then rewrote that a few times afterwards. It got written mainly in the last couple of months before it was due. It's all about dissertation supervisors going on a 2 week holiday for the 2 weeks leading up to the deadline Didn't meet mine at any point apart from the very first day we spoke about dissertations, then just lone wolfed that shit. EDIT: Also, Dan - you'll probably end up deleting/re-writing that bit just because once you get started it's really hard to stop. Mine was something like a 12k limit and after I'd already reigned myself in while writing it I still hit around 15-16k and had to trim a load out. Fair play for getting a chunk of it done so early though, I didn't really do anything on mine until there was less than a fortnight to go (hence my supervisor being away being a bit of a bitch)... Did that on my masters, and I ignored 'the experimental method' which I was supposed to follow since it was a science degree. I think this only made the prof even more impressed. I was happy with a mark of 79%, particularly since a week before the deadline I realised all my maths could be simplified down to virtually 3 lines and therefore the whole project was a waste of time... ; ) (Incidentally I never told them I'd found a quicker way to do it...) What forks did you go for? Got myself some Fox Talas 140's tapered to fit the frame. Still need to sort out wheels and everything else so it'll take me a little time to build it up! Muel
My dissertation was not my proudest moment. Spent most of the year coding and then about a week before the deadline writing it up. I had to increase the font size to 14pt to get it on to the minimum 35 pages because it was so short. Didn't proofread it really, just skimmed it the night before hand in, and got 64%. Tony Harrison
Holy shit dude 79% that's amazing, well done! what did you do your masters in? Thanks, I was pleased as f'ck at the time. It was Engineering Applications of Lasers, and the dissertation was to do with cutting up 3D models for rotary/spiral 3D printing. I got 65% in the exams, making an average of over 70%. But you only got a 'distinction' if both bits were 70% or more. I liked to think that my mark in the unsupervised/unspoonfed part of the course counted for more, but no dice. Guess I should've not been such a slacker with coursework and revision... The prof did say if he'd had an opening he'd have offered me a research post in the department, and I think I'd have taken it. I wonder how my life would be different now if I had've gone that path. No regrets though.
