Polo I think?

Congrats dude, need to get mine all booked and done. Insurance is a b*****d. I've come to accept that I'll be paying £2000 or more for my first year.

Cheapest quote on my EK is £2000 so far.

In my own happy news, also car related, I've worked out that all being well and providing Im not lazy about arranging stuff, I can afford to be on the road by October/November at the earliest :)

Also found an exhaust and wheels for my EK for cheapo moneyz. This years probably the best yet.

That's extortionate! (no idea how much young/ new drivers pay on average anymore I didn't drive anything other then motorbikes until I was 22?)

Anywhere between £2000 and £3000 roughly is deemed average for a young first time driver it seems.

When I first looked at quotes for a 1.4 Civic hatch at 17 they were £3000 plus or just under. A year on and waiting until Im 18 seems to have dropped the prices Im being given.

Yeah a 1.4 Polo. Got some for £2500, thats with insurethebox. When they instal the box in my car it will go down, or up depending on how i drive :)

FREEDOM!

It will only go down after your first year, providing you drive safely.. I'm with iKube (check them out, they're good) and paid £1100 on my 106. You also get 10% off when you get referred, which I could do for you if you can find it cheap enough.

Thing is you get shit like a curfew, and if you break it they charge you £100..

I got a quote with iKube and it something like £4000. With this insurer i don't have any curfews but i have 6000 miles a year, which can be topped up at a price lol.

I'm 28 and my first year was last year, £1,400. Now it's gone down to £736 in my second year. That's on a bottom spec Leon TDI, anything "fun" like a Cupra or similar is still well over £2,000 for me.

After your first year it should drop quite rapidly, though maybe not quite so quickly if you're younger I guess.

I'm 32 this year, my mondeo zetec s tdci is £360 a year fully comp. I jokingly did a quote for a vauxhall VXR8 Bathurst s, the 572bhp supercharged one, and it was only £1300 lol

How? I'm 22, live in a fairly shit area of Sheffield and I can get a Cupra R for £1200 a year, if it was my first year of driving.

I might be buying an engine tomorrow!

B16a2 - Eventually to go into my EK sometime in the future. Comes as the block and head with all internals, flywheel, clutch and vtec solonoid for money I can afford.
Will make an epic play thing to slowly add to and rebuild over time.

Im really enjoying being able to afford to mess with cars now.

Had abit of a weird belly ache all day, just let off the most rewarding fart and I feel fresh as a daisy now!

Had this a few years ago. Pain was so bad I was admitted to hospital via my doctor who couldnt work out what it was.

Ran some tests, told me id be in overnight. Let off the biggest fart I've experienced, and felt fine.

I couldnt stop laughing.

had a taster session for my mod1 today (full day of training tomorrow), Absolutely loved it, got plonked on a cbf600 and the instructor said i was brilliant, very confident and natural apparently! Makes me confident for tomorrow and my test on wednesday. The girl who came for a session after me didn't have such a good one! Piss poor clutch control and binned it when the instructor asked her to stop!
