I think most people would much rather not live at home though.. granted it's all a touch boring and tedious, but freedom/you're own life>going home to ma.

Knew there'd be a cheeky little dig from you. Fish elsewhere darling haha

I love my mum! She's a f**king right laugh haha

Had a brilliant weekend in Warsaw with a mate, chilled ate food, drunk lots of beer etc. Got home to find a package with some brake pads (TNN's and Koxx browns!) and tensioner, so my build is very almost complete!

All in all, pretty happy.

Did you get those browns off george blake? They were mine, I left my bike at his for a few months and came back to find the stem, koxx pads and front brake missing. Wasn't happy at the time but now I don't care.

Hope you enjoy them man, solid pads!

It wasn't a dig, just adding some reasons as to why people might be concerned about things like APR and other such tedious things as the motivation for freedom is strong. In much the same way I fully understand why people live at home to save up for a deposit so they can get straight on the property ladder, but I in no way support it. I wouldn't do it as there's no price you can put on an independent life no matter how well you get on with your parents.

I couldn't get excited about all the bumall in the world if I knew I had to go at it with mum about. Just the basic aspects of life for me don't align with living under someone else's roof. I couldn't bare it.

I moved out the month I turned 18 and only returned for 2 months after Uni (long enough). I've lived in a good few cities and had so many different experiences which I just either couldn't have had, or been able to enjoy knowing that I'd be going back to the family house at the end of the day. Being in your twenties and living at home is such an odd concept I just can't fathom it.

Im not particularly fussed about it,to be fair it was left in a pile in his garden over winter. But at the same time if someone took £60 out of my wallet because it had been there for a while and they didn't think I wanted it I would be much more annoyed

Recently he has just been bumming about sponging off people and selling trials parts, being unable to afford train tickets Ect... But Whatever nothing to do with me.

He could of asked though LALALALALALALA LAAAA

Distant, don't see much of each other anymore, his / our interests changed and I moved 10 miles away.

just how things go really, we still get along and stuff but idk we may cross paths at some point if I get into bmx or he gets back into trials

Was he a member on here?

I recognise the name...

He went by 'drstix' but I think he changed it to 'Blake_18' or something?

what have you gone for dude?

Found a Trek EX8 WSD frame and shock on ebay which had a link to a shop selling the same item for £30 less (free postage too), just found someone less than a mile from me selling some Rockshox revelations which I've haggled down to £100 so I'm happy with that too, means I can afford to get them serviced if needed (which I can get done at mates rates).

Ah sweet stuff! I've just started looking to track down something similar for my GF too - recently built her up a reasonably solid spec Boardman (frame cost me £40...) to see how she gets on with a full suss and work out the best move from there once she's got a feel for it. Also going down the bargain Revelations route :)

good stuff, what size did you go for? That's my only worry with mine. She already has a Cannondale hardtail which she got sold at Evans from someone who obviously wanted a sale rather than helping her get the correct bike, it's far too long for her and she got put off riding as she was stretched out and didn't like how harsh it was. The Trek is the same size (16") but with a shorter reach so as long as we can get the seat height good then we should be onto a winner :)

I'm hoping she'll enjoy it and let me sell the Cannondale to recoup some of the costs, but it's not the end of the world if it doesn't fit or she wants to keep the 'dale, to get the Trek up and running with mostly hope/Magura/shimano parts should be in the range of £500
