My bro in law got one of the £35 ones off ebay with built in camera. Take a lot of getting used to, hope you ordered spare batteries!

This thing is tiny, no camera on it - fits in the palm of your hand.

It comes with a little controller that looks like a mini xbox controller.

Links to these? I need to scratch this itch that keeps me looking at the proper ones...

Thought I'd find some help in here :)

Awesome place, just trying to plan a trip back there with my missus in tow too, actually.

Find somewhere to stay and the rest will fall into place - the main part of the city isn't massive so just going for a wander around is highly recommended in my book. Seemed very friendly when I went, everyone speaks good English so you'll never get into too much trouble/ get hopelessly lost.

The coffee shop situation is just another world, they're basically just an equivalent of bars/ pubs. There's the sorta mainstream stuff like Bulldog which is probably the equivalent of a Wetherspoons through to all kinds of quirky places. Very weird to have absolutely no prejudices surrounding it though, you're alright to smoke outside too, chilling in the sun down the park is fully recommended.

Oh and stay away from the truffles, they taste like dirt and had a 100% bad trip record with everyone I went with.

Cheers dude! How do the locals react to baked tourists? Wondering if one should be self conscious about it. Or is this what you mean by there being no prejudices?

And also how long would you recommend staying for? The drive will take us half a day. We were thinking about staying 2 full days / 3 nights.

3 days is perfect for Amsterdam, your thinking too much into it, no-one will care about baked tourists, it's the norm, it's cannabis not heroin.

Agree with Dman, no-one really cares. Seem to remember you not being particularly new to it either, so I highly doubt you'll be one to go all-out and embarrass yourself like many 'lads' no doubt would do :P

I reckon 2/3 days would be bang on really, you'll have plenty of time to enjoy it and more than likely be left wanting to go back sometime - I went for a week but spent 3 days working there at an advertising agency, so probably had 2 days of exploring and stuff - feel like i've scratched the surface but seen and done enought to be satisfied for now if that makes sense?

Also, check out the Stedelijk museum if you're even remotely into art and design, was a really worthwhile visit for me. It's in the museum quarter so super easy to find, but not necessarily one of the usual go-to's like the Van Gogh or Reijks. Foam photography gallery was ace too.

I want to share a cabin with you dan

Sounds good man. I proper would love to do it. Could do the deal that I did where you get an extra night in a 5* hotel as part of the deal for little extra meaning you get a full night in Amsterdam. £150 each for three nights I think it was on one of those P and o mini cruises.

I start my new job on Monday - it's just a temporary 4 week change of role, but there's a chance it could become permanent and I can ask for more dollars...

We'll see. Either way it's a change of scenery.
