ItsMatt
I have a trial shift with Deliveroo on Thursday. Bicycle food courier/messenger type deal, self employed, £4 a drop + flat hourly rate. Slightly nervous as I'm not as fit as I have been, either way should be fun!
JD™
Just had an email from a client along the lines of "Hey... bit of a slow day here so I'm shooting phone screens with a rifle in slo-motion. Please tell me YouTube would like that so that I can pretend it's work."
ItsMatt
I won a race and got the job. I get my gear on Monday. COOL.
bikeperson45
@ItsMatt, what did you have to do? Congrats, I'm just imaging the loser having to ride off as slow as they usually do apparently

TrialsIsHard
Deliveroo riders are rapid in Brighton, it's like Premium Rush in real life. Do you have to cycle back to a base after each delivery?
Jolfa
if it's anything like the Deliveroo guys in Australia, they just sit around in parks/towns/anywhere with somewhere to sit until they get a text. One of the guys at work, also worked for a similar rival company who had just started up, his days mostly consisted of sitting at home in his work shirt watching Netflix

N.Wood
Or higher wages in London to reflect the generally increased living costs.
haydon_peter
Or it's danger money for having to cycle in London!
Pete.M
Kinda wish I'd looked into Deliveroo rather than starting back at Dominos. A 1988 Volvo is not the most economical delivery car, but that's my own fault. I have an interview tomorrow for a position that appears to require someone completely different to me. This could be interesting.

Read it make a rather loud cracking noise! Ah man, cannot imagine doing it myself! Edited March 18, 2016 by bike_dummie
Jolfa
What are you getting punched exactly? I did my arm so can't comment on cartilage.
bike_dummie
How did you do your arm? I think may be thinking of different things... I am getting my inner conch punched, thinking of 2g.
Jolfa
It's the same thing just the difference between pulling a piece of flesh out like an apple core to fit dermal anchor, or going all the way through as you are. That will hurt like f**king hell, good luck!
bike_dummie
Ah right I didn't realise they were the same, Meh can't be that bad I'm sure? Right...? No going back now had the appointment since last week.
