PatJsy
I changed the seat on it so still had the original plus the receipt. That and when you lock a guy inside your house and tell him he's not leaving with the bike negotiating a price is quite easy You have to be a total retard to steal a bike like that and not change a single thing on it though... He claimed he got it from someone else, whether you want to trust someone like that or not is up to you I guess. I made about £250 profit on it when the insurance paid me last year so I thought 20 quid is nothing really...

Jake.
Regardless of whether someone had bought it or had actually stolen it themselves, it's still your bike. I'd never give any money towards them.

ItsMatt
Just got a front 05 gura, set of near new koxx browns, onza flat bars and shitty stem, onza hog wheels, a right trialtech platform pedal, some random cranks and a VIZ freewheel for £20. Shame about only getting one pedal, my current set are well past their use by date. oh and an 09 T pro in there AS WELL Edited May 14, 2014 by ItsMatt

I'd never give any money towards them. True, but at the end of the day, I've already made my money back plus an extra few hundred quid. He had to be an idiot to believe a bike like that (virtually brand new at the time) being sold for £90 wasn't dodgy but just in case he was genuinely "tricked" I felt 20 quid wasn't much... At the end of the day he's the only one that's lost out on it... Don't know why I'm defending the guy but he seemed genuine. Either way, I'm happy! On 5/14/2014 at 3:32 PM, Luke Rainbird said: You probably wouldn't get your bike back then. I had him locked inside my house and I'm fairly well built, bike was staying with me regardless On 5/14/2014 at 3:59 PM, bing said: I would've just twatted the b*****d and took it back Had this happened 2 days or 2 weeks after it was robbed then yes. Nearly 2 years later the bike could have changed hands a number of times and the guy could have genuinely thought he bought a legitimate bike. That was my rationale for trying to sort it out nicely anyway. At the end of the day, you have to imagine someone claiming a bike you bought second hand was actually theirs and demanding it back for free... Or even worse, same scenario with a car... I know you should check these things, make sure they're not stolen but if I see something cheap I normally think "bargain" rather than "robbed"...
Mark W
A man in London spent an entire traffic light sequence animatedly telling me that my bike was in fact his bike that had been stolen from him. Thought he was going to properly kick off but repeatedly saying "No, this is my bike" was apparently enough to persuade him. Made me wonder how many people he tried that shit with though...
Tom Booth
I stopped for a drink at sherwood pines the other week and some kid went 'oh my god my bike!' Whilst pointing at my orange, I told him to do one, he instantly walked off and shouted the same at another guy. I too wondered of his success rate. ogre
i made two new gaps that i've fancied for a while one from the back of a bench to a sleeper, and another fairly decent sized rail to rail gap
