The Happy Thread

Slightly different vibe from my last post in here, but my little sister just got engaged :) I knew it was going to happen tonight because her now fiancé asked my permission to ask my Dad for permission – uber respect.

He got her best friend (ironically my ex for those tuned into the relationship thread) to ask her to meet in London Victoria, which is where they first met. He then got on his knee in the middle of the crowd and asked her to marry him, apparently to huge cheering and applause. I've just had a very excited sibling on the phone, and I'm massively happy for her :)

Just finished fixing my bike.

Happy because I found a lot of things wrong that would have seriously ruined tomorrows (today) ride.

One being a pedal half loose, rear wheel very egged, trued it and happened to puncture the tube with the spoke (which would have seriously pissed me off in mid ride), so I fixed the puncture and patched up a spare tube that was punctured. Also stuck an 04 lever on the rear, feels way nicer.

Just glad I got round to it really.

Any tips to make a vee pull smoother? Guessing just a bit of wd40? I can hear and feel the cable rubbing a bit if that helps. Cheers.

Anyone? I'm driving quite far to a ride in an hour or so and would like to fix it.

I know it's the wrong topic but still haha.

As little tension as possible and GT85 or a wet lube. I can fiddle with it if you're coming to pompey? x

Loosen off the tensioning screws either side the arms till they only just tension, some wet lube in the outer and make sure each end of the outer is cut straight and cleanly. I noticed a massive difference when I started cutting outer cables with a grinder and 1mm cutting disc. Try to cut them as close to 90* too, just means there's no squash in the outer because you've got 2 flat faces contacting rather then /| <that set up.
