Muel
That's crazy money! We have a joint account that pays for everything, we usually put in about £700 a month (£350 each) which covers all the bills and our food bill, and always leaves a bit left over for meals out, joint birthday presents for people etc. You can get decent sized rooms in shared houses for about £200 a month in Sheffield. weirdoku
Just had a look at a decent size room for £400 including all bills. Nice big window facing a pond, wooden flooring, in a quiet place which is nice and took me about 7 mins to get to work on a bicycle. Room is in a shared house with other male/females around my age. Only thing is there's no where to put my bikes, they said they would be happy to put in some wall mounts so I can lock my bikes to them but it's outside although it is under cover. Still likely to get robbed. EDIT: I'm taking said room, I haven't been able to find a nicer one for that price including all bills. Paying the holding deposit tomorrow and moving into it at the end of the month! Slightly scared that I won't survive on what's left of my monthly wage after rent but I'll just have to budget really well. I should be okay though, managed 3 years of uni living in halls and rented places without a job for most of 2 years and just about scraped by. Oh man, what's going to happen from May onwards?! JD™
You lot are almost making me angry that I'm paying well into the 4 figures for my abode. Then I remember it's worth it not to have to live up north.

Revolver
You can keep your shitty south. Unless one day I have to move down there, in which case, it's a lovely place.

Muel
I went to Leicester last year, and I'm going again on Friday. Everything is very flat, and it definitely had a funny smell. The flatness of it all made me feel wierdly claustrophobic actually...
weirdoku
One USB port has decided to stop working completely. Had this problem before and the only I managed to fix it was to re-install windows from fresh for it to start working again. So annoying. Muel
Sounds like it's likely that it could be another fault then? Unlikely to get a driver issue twice IMO...

weirdoku
Sounds like it's likely that it could be another fault then? Unlikely to get a driver issue twice IMO... No idea. It was plugged into my audio interface but since it uses the same USB as my printer I unplugged it from the interface then plugged it to my printer. First the printer was recognized but the drivers wouldn't install even though the drivers are already installed. So I unplugged to plug my interface back in and now nothing happens. Now that USB port doesn't recognize anything, plugged in memory sticks, my phone, printer again, cameras etc etc and still nothing. Happened before, I've searched and searched the internet but nothing has solved it.
bikeperson45
Past week in review -Still hobbling because of my knee -Shoes chewed up by dogs -Told I'll probably need surgery, meaning my third summer in a row of not being able to ride/ do anything physical and 6 month recovery time. Potentially changes everything in my life since I don't know what country I'll be in becaues of that. -Laptop charger also chewed by dogs, no internet/ DVDs for a while-Toilet overflowed and got my urine on some of my clothes -8 mile ride to work and back harder only being able to pedal with one leg -Now the bike's hub's given up so I'm kind of screwed there -Living alone being injured without a TV or laptop is no fun

Greetings
Graphics card finally packed up after almost 5 years. Now faced with having to purchase something new, annoyingly the equivalent in performance is still well over 100 quid. I thought that after 5 years the technology becomes obsolete and is worth a tenth of what it was originally and yet it appears that my old card is on par with the performance of a 650GTX. Where's the progress?
isitafox
Facing upto the fact that I probably won't be able to ride properly until at least late July/August according to what I've heard from fellow riders. I dare not even think how many bikes I'll have built out of boredom by then. Already got some obscene expenditure planned!
