JT!
So, wife goes running with an ex boyfriend (from about 8 or 9 years ago) and doesn't see why I have a problem with it. I just don't trust him, I know (possibly from personal experience) that the fact someone is married simply makes the challenge more fun (I know, moved on from that). Really winds me up as he sought her out pestering on Facebook and stuff to get her out running, what's worse is he runs the gym in Chapel so it's not like he's short of candidates to run with. His intentions are irrelevant, unless they're to force her into something against her will. If you trust your wife you have nothing to worry about. SamKidney
What did you have to do dude? Had to assemble a number of plates using bolts washers and spacers, but the way it was assembled meant you had to do so in a set way. I got the two halves assembled as they should. Came to bolting the two together and down onto the base and both sets of bolts they had provided were wrong bolts. I'd used all the correct bolts elsewhere so I pointed this out at the end and they agreed that the bolts were infact incorrect. No idea what reflection that has on my score but I was a tad pissed off after feeling pretty confident through the interview sections, group work session and maths test. isitafox
If you did it correct and they provided the wrong materials and agreed they'd made a mistake I don't see it as being a problem on your behalf

I would not be surprised if that was part of the test. If you do get an apprenticeship there they want to make sure you won't use the wrong parts whilst assembling something and forcing something together causing it to fail. Possibly, but I doubt it considering at least two more people managed to construct the whole item successfully without issue.

Are you sure about that? They could just be master bodgers. Did you leave it til the end to mention about the bolts or did you say it as soon as you realised? I'm with everyone else thinking that was all part of it.

I can 100% assure you it wasnt part of the task. The structure was meant to go together with no "bodgery", the way its assembled/drilled to take the bolts meant you couldn't possibly bodge it and create the exact replica of the structure to the left of you. I mentioned them when I noticed but the observer said they were all there. I spoke to the organizer who puts the tasks together who has the list of the bolts that should be supplied following the test, and there were indeed two bolts that were too big, and the two correctly sized bolts were missing from the set. He took my set of bolts and washers, and another set and the other set contained the correct bolts, while mine didn't.

Was it time pressured? Or did they allow you to complete the task once the correct bolts were provided?

I spoke to the organizer, who said he'd make a note of it and said that the error would be accounted for during selection. I't was time pressurized and I had no additional time over the other candidates.

Greetings
Went to collect a car from a tuner with my friend yesterday. We covered 600 miles, were supposed to be back at midnight but arrived at home at 7am due to poor planning. Found out that there's a 5am, don't think I've seen that time of day for months or even years. Must say it was incredibly pretty at dawn with all the snow and a thick low fog in the distance. Looked like a hostile alien planet.
weirdoku
Waited one month for new guitar to come, arrives today but it's the wrong version. I ordered the fixed bridge and got the trem version, I hate trems. The guitar also has a few faults that I wouldn't even pass as B stock! 1a2bcio8
Why, today, did my uni tutor have to say that it's not her fault if they deny my suspension of studies this year? I asked if she knew something about that possibility but she said she didn't. It just seems strange that she decided to say that. It's not really a concern I need at the moment when stress has the effect of bringing back my symptoms from the accident. It's possible she's just being a standard rubbish academic and not really thinking about what she's doing in a social context. Annoying though. I can't possibly imagine that a random accident that impedes by ability to study should be grounds for kicking me out of the university? I've made it through to the second year even I have already had to suspend once before on medical grounds. My doctor has written a note fully emphasising my situation and supporting a suspension and return.

Muel
I tend to find getting blind drunk on a regular basis is an extremely effective coping mechanism.

Jake.
Thought about dropping college for 2 months now, I was meant to be doing an apprenticeship last September but it didn't happen. I ended up on a photography course again for the 4th time running (2nd year of college but I did it for 2 years as gcse). Been really behind all the way through the year and it's making me feel pretty shit. I've been applying for jobs everywhere and I'm lucky enough to even get a reply. And I have to be up in 5 hours for college... When I know I really don't give a shit and will just be sat there bored listening to music.
