Muel
Bad times guys. I had the same deal with physics, I was really struggling but I thought I'd get a D/E at least, but in the end I got a U.
dann2707
Bit annoyed with a friend who we used to keep in touch quite a lot but lately she's like not talking to me! Tried ringing and she'sbeen on wwhatsapp but just hasn't replied to me. I haven't done anything wrong. If I've missed someone's call twice two times in a week i'd at least reply and say why. Oh well, her loss I suppose haha!
koxxboy14
:'( got a f**king U in unit 3 accounting and only achieved a C in unit 3 economics. Not good, not good.... And i felt the most confident out of any unit going in to unit 3 in accounting.
SamKidney
Hotmail cocked up right when I really didn't need it to. Responded to my invitation to the Rolls Royce assessment day next week, yet received an email yesterday asking if Im still attending which indicates the response never reached them. Responded to the second email from them, but it might be too late and they withdraw my application f**king down now.

dann2707
I once saw a guy on another forum who was the head of a large business who was recruiting and he instantly dismissed and destroyed around 6 CVs simply because the applicants provided their hotmail address as email contacts. Always use my Gmail account or my Uni email now for important stuff
TrialsIsHard
Have to drop further maths, as there isn't enough time to do all my modules and retake one. And therefore cannot drop anything at the end of the year. But then again, I hate further

I'm not saying Hotmail is the holy grail but that is such an ignorant attitude to uphold.Depends who you're hiring. Would you hire a web developer if they didn't have an email address for their own URL on their CV? Just to be clear, I have interviewed people who have have hotmail addresses on their CVs for a designer/developer job, but it didn't look good.Throwing their CVs away because of it is very cockish though. ogre
we were reviewing CVs for our team in the office yesterday, chloe-babez_wuz_ere@hotmail.com won't be joining our team... it's not an ignorant attitude, it's a tiny little diligence test. hopping on the careers train means behaving like a tiny little grown up. i guess the because it's hotmail is a little cruel but i view it as a little juvenile..

Throwing their CVs away because of it is very cockish though. That's a little specific no? In your case yeah it makes sense, but that wasn't what I was originally replying to. It was said that it was a head of a large business (so unlikely to be a wed developer). I understand the premise of it, but as a blanket rule it's ignorant. we were reviewing CVs for our team in the office yesterday, chloe-babez_wuz_ere@hotmail.com won't be joining our team... it's not an ignorant attitude, it's a tiny little diligence test. hopping on the careers train means behaving like a tiny little grown up. i guess the because it's hotmail is a little cruel but i view it as a little juvenile.. Someone using a hotmail address and someone having a silly name ending with @hotmail.com are two very different things. If I was interviewing someone and they had an email address like the one you mentioned then yes, I probably wouldn't contact them. However in my case I've used simply my name followed by the usual ending there is no issue. Whilst I don't intend to do it for a great deal longer (in a professional context) I have had absolutely no ramifications from using a Hotmail address in all my professional (freelance) graphic design work and when using it as an initial contact when applying for new jobs. Muel
You posted a blanket hypothesis (that the guy must be a cock) and then we both proposed situations where that would untrue. Why not just admit that your hypothesis is flawed instead of attempting to be right? Why not just admit that your hypothesis is flawed instead of attempting to be right? Every hypothesis is flawed. Anyway Sam chill out and let's not make this in to something that it's not (i.e. interesting). I merely thought the guy dismissing candidates based on their email address was severely ignorant. However to be honest based on your last comment I now share that opinion of you as I thought it'd be blatantly obvious I was doing nothing more than giving my opinion which you've confused with me 'attempting to be right'. A proper email address using your own URL and having a high quality portfolio at that URL is very important in freelance IMO. It's all part of your online persona!
