Revolver
My girlfriend has a stupidly camp immune system, and she works in an off-licence, so she soaks up every illness and disease from the scum she meets every day and brings them home for me. As a result, she's constantly ill and in the past year I've been ill more times than in the previous 5 years...Normally I simply man up but I'm getting a little tired of it now.Multivitamins will improve your immune system. Muel
Can she not get a different job?To be fair you're batting above your average anyway lad so the fact she's giving you illnesses can only be a good thing??!! She's looking for something new anyway now she's finished uni, hopefully she'll get something a little further from the public next.Tell her that and you're a dead man! She hasn't got a clue lol. I guess overall it's worth it, but it would still be nice if I could be ill a little less often. Multivitamins will improve your immune system.Orly, have they actually worked for you? I drink orange juice every day so should be getting some vitamin C, but the rest of my diet is pretty poor at the moment...
Revolver
Yeah, I used to take vitamin C on its own but I noticed a vast improvement in my ability to not get a cold - even when I've spend time with friends who have bad colds - when I switched to multivitamins. I know there's the whole argument of having expensive piss, but that only really applies if you're actually getting everything from fruit and veg. I'm a bit hit and miss with that so multivitamins relieve some pressure. Now for some real angry thread news - I burnt my pizza, it's becoming a habit.

JDâ„¢
Definitely use multivitamins as much as you can remember to. I've never noticed them working when taking them, but then I stop for a bit and get ill.
dann2707
I think i'm going to start taking cod liver oil ? My wrists are clicking so much along with my knuckles, I can "crack" my knuckles just by making a fist Any other remedies for this shit? N.Wood
Glucosamine and chondritin (sp?) is what I took for a few years, kinda forgot and stopped taking them recently though. Just gonna deal with the fact I'll probably be in a wheelchair at some point lol.

Word, it's hard to actually notice the effects, a bit like you don't properly realise it when you're on a sugar rush or something like that, but I have managed to notice I've barely been ill in comparison to before I took them. When I was last weight training, I took them them along with cod liver oil, but that was just to ensure I was getting the vitamins needed to look after my ligaments and stuff. I had no idea they could do anything for illness, but now I think about it, I was rarely ill back then.I'll pick some more up later, see how things go over the next few weeks. Muel
I decided it was a very silly thing to do. Spending hours of life lifting things up just to be bigger? I decided to just go outside and do things more instead.
haydon_peter
I have been taking Glucosamine and Omega 3 for a couple of years now. My joints used to click loads but after 1-2 months of taking them I noticed an improvement so I continued. I just put the tablets on my desk where I charge my phone every night so have got into the habit of taking them every morning when I get up. I have heard that Chondroitin is good as well but it seems to be quite expensive and I already take 2 supplements anyway so decided not to look into it any further! I take the following: http://www.healthspan.co.uk/glucosamine-supplements/glucosamine-optiflex-hcl-1000mg/productdetail-p1545864-c142.aspx http://www.healthspan.co.uk/omega-3/omega-3-1000mg/productdetail-p354-c151.aspx
weirdoku
Another vote for multivitamins from me. Everyone at work has some sort of cold and I'm the only healthy one, how come you ask? I take multivitamins! Or my immune system is just naturally hench.
Muel
I drink too much, maybe that has something to do with it? I'm sure I remember hearing that alcohol suppresses your immune system...
FamilyBiker
does chondroitin and stuff really work? i heard of cartilages beeing supplied with nutrition per diffusion, what would make it impossible to work when taken oral. haydon_peter
Like I said in my previous post Glucosamine and Omega 3 made a huge difference. For example when walking up and down the stairs my knees used to frequently click really loudly, that rarely happens now. Maybe I should stop taking them for a few weeks to see if I get clicky joints again...
isitafox
Might get on this, I can guarantee that if I get up in the night when I get out of bed my legs crack so loudly I usually wake and get a bollocking off the missus!

Feel awful even now I'm home and had some grub. I feel you man, I once had an argument with family so rushed out having not eaten. Was doing some road bike training. Got to the top of stanage edge and passed out from hunger in a car park. Worst thing was there was an ice cream van next to me but I had no money my dad eventually picked me up and I ate about 20 mr killings apple pies in about a minute flat. I don't even like apple pie Edited February 26, 2013 by Duncy H
