CC12345678910
This tablet I'm battering away at is an absolute pile of shite. That were 40quid well spent... * edited and typos corrected from my so far trusty 10yr old IBM laptop. F***ing piece of 2nd hand shopping channel tablet shaped crap - now to think of creative ways of destroying it. MadManMike
Forever skint, car destined for the scrap yard in a months time, shit time at work and the daunting prospect of being put in charge of running the business if current arrangements go tits up Fed up with everything You need to look at things from a different perspective. 1) Your car is destined for a scrap yard? Is it really worth keeping anyway then? My old Leon was good for breaking, glad to see the back of it. 2) You're angry about the prospects of running a business? Surely that means more to do, more money etc? If not, why are you staying there? It's a cliche, but life is as good as you make it (To a certain extent). Go and make yours better.

The car is super reliable, it's the body shell that's taken a hit due to winter weather. Well rotten. I don't want to get rid but it needs a lot of material replacing to make roadworthy for its MOT. I'm not angry about the idea of running the business, I'm sure it'll be a great opportunity. It's that I've never done anything like that before and it's a lot to take on in terms of responsibility knowing what's involved in making it work. Azarathal
Pissed off. Driven 200miles to an mr2 specialist for polybushing + full geo/alignment. He'd kept me waiting for 3weeks promising the bushes would be In and only booked me in today after I'd not been able to get hold of him to find out what's going on and me putting a FOA post on the forums. He's just had a go at me for causing confrontation on the forum, ruining his Sunday and now I find out I'm getting a secondhand set of bushes fitted rather than the bushes he'd promised as they still aren't here. I would've travelled half the mileage to go to a different specialist that had the bushes in stock if it wasn't for this guys reputation as being one of the best around. Oh and literally found out he's not even including roll bar bushes for f**k sake
Skoze
Second hand bushes? Really? f**k that right off.
Azarathal
Yup :/ so I've come all this way to have the ride height adjusted, brakes bled and oil changed, could've done it at home myself yet now I'm here I've got to have it done as I won't be able to before the track day

dann2707
Taken my phone to pieces to change the charger/aux circuit board. Everything is going absolutely perfect, spot on. come to the final last little connector that clips in annndddddddddddddd it's too small for the connector. They've sent me the wrong one. I wouldn't mind if it was the first thing to do but it was the last. Ahh well, my phone looks pretty cool on the inside.
Jake.
Feeling kinda worthless after being told that a full-time position at my bikehut Halfords is going to a lad who doesn't even like cycling, and isn't as hard working... Just because he can use the phone.

Just because he can use the phone. Surely there must be some complaint that would stand could be made here? If the sole factor they wont offer you the full time position is down to your hearing then I'd count that as discrimination. Someone else can answer the phone, if you're hard working the rest of the time what does it matter. Any chimp can answer a phone and spurt some shit.
Mark W
That might depend on the job description though - if it says you have to be able to answer the phone then that might count Jake out a bit? Essentially there might be circumstances where the rest of the staff might be busy so no-one could answer it. Not saying I agree with their stance, by the way, just putting that out there. It does sound shady as f**k, but then again it's Halfords I guess. Might be worth checking out the Citizens Advice Bureau and seeing if it is counted as discrimination all the same. Jake.
Me and the other lad are both part time, he's not interested in bikes, he's planning on going back to the Navy at the end of the year, he's a good lad and I'd call him a mate. I've heard he doesn't act like he wants to be at work, and it's not really in the job description, and I can talk on the phone etc but not well enough. Not gonna complain or anything as I don't wanna be a fanny, just annoyed at how many missed opportunities I've had due to being deaf. Dunno what to do really, I'm not the type to let being deaf hold me back but it's really pissing me off recently.

Others have different problems. Ultimately we have to work with what we've got. I think Martyn Ashton is a good role model in that sense - look at how positive he's being about his change in circumstances. I know this isn't really good advice, but personally I try not to dwell on things that I can't change, and instead focus on useful attributes I have. The other way to look at it is, deaf or not, opportunity-wise you're probably in the top 5% of the world's population.

I'm just having a bit of a down that's all really, I don't even notice I'm deaf most of the time and don't let it phase me when I mishear people etc- until shit like this happens haha. I'm not really dwelling on it, just trying to work round it and figure out what to do. I was told I'm probably gonna get the next full-time position that comes along but the one that's coming up is the first one in 3 years... Haha. Martyn can't do the same job now though can he? And that's a good point, hadn't even thought of that. Cheers man.
Mark W
He can't do exactly the same job he had before but he seems to have created some cool new opportunities for himself which seems to be a broadly representative thing of what you might need to do? They're clearly f**king you around, and then adding to that by saying they'll give you the opportunity to get a full-time placement in 3 years... Jake.
Well it wasn't definite per se, but they gave strong hints they wanted me to have the full time job haha, now they're suggesting the other blokes getting it- and I asked a friend of mine who I'm close to but is also close to the manager/boss of my store... Hope he never sees this post as he rides trials too haha but probs doesn't matter as the other employees aren't on here. I just want a god damn full time jobbbbbb. Tom Booth
Genuinely sad Zane Lowe is leaving radio 1, he's been on the radio in this house every night nearly since we bought it and before that he was in the garage acting as the background to building cars, bikes, night drives with the mrs and such. He'll be sorely missed.
MartMini
i honestly hate listening to the radio. Radio 1 presenters talk so much shit 99% of the time. i cant remember the exact presenter, but fridays nights seem to be the only good time to listen to radio 1..... forteh
I've not listened to radio 1 since John Peel died Even then the only things I listened to was the John Peel show, the breezeblock and the rock show when it first started up when Mary Anne Hobbs was doing it, the very first time I heard smells like teen spirit Edited March 5, 2015 by forteh
monkeyseemonkeydo
I never listen to the radio because the buggers keep talking. If they just played music fine but they insist on talking shite all the time. If I'm ever forced to listen to the radio on the way to work due to a flat iPod battery I just end up shouting 'PLAY SOME f**kING MUSIC' at the radio... and that's what grinds my gears.
Ross McArthur
I must admit, I do enjoy Zane. His ramblings were a part I enjoyed, as well as the new music.
