AndrewEH1
I've been screwed on eBay to the tune of £500... Ordered 2 GoPros to sell, guy sent me 2 CDs tracked and signed for so he can prove that the parcel he sent was delivered... ...I suspect this may be the first time in history eBay don't side with the buyer That is very shit. Have you called eBay? Still have all the packaging and the CDs?

That really sucks, never actually heard of the happening so obviously.
Jolfa
Spent an hour on hold to PayPal before giving up, still have the packaging and the only defense that I'm not the one screwing him is that it was never big enough to fit 2 GoPros in in the first place and have started a return dispute under "not as described". Read his feedback this morning, he has one in the last week from a guy he sent a book to instead of a phone... I could really use not losing £
TrialsIsHard
does proof of purchase show the weight of the item? If so 2 CD's is much lighter than 2 GoPro's. I think PayPal will back you if you can prove the package came from him and has the corresponding numbers from his proof of purchase on. Shit piece of luck though Edit: this in in a13.1 (protection for buyers) on their website- For eligible items, protection is available for both items not received (INR) and significantly not as described (SNAD); Edited January 19, 2015 by TrialsIsHard
Jolfa
Yeah opened a dispute as not as described, problem being it's a return dispute (the only option) so if the scammer is smart he'll accept a return and say I sent him CDs instead of GoPros... Anyone want Bob Marley live & a Victor Silvester (double CD!) for £500?
isitafox
How far away is he? Problem with returning goods after scamming someone is you have to give your adddress. Sure there'll be some local TF members who could knock on?
Skoze
Keep phoning ebay (there is a number if you look hard enough) and explain the situation - packaging will show the weight which won't be anywhere near one gopro let alone two, factor in his other feedback as well. Have you got an address to return to? Phone the police mate, its fraud pure and simple.
AdamR28
Good idea Skoze - yes, the receipt (which is proof of posting of a tracked / signed for item) will have the weight on there: http://deltastamps.com/img/fact/SD%20Receipt.jpg The amount of postage paid / type of delivery would also put the parcel in a certain weight band: http://postagelabelsuk.com/wp-content/gallery/horizon-labels-update-april-2013/labels2.jpg A GoPro Hero 4 in all it's packaging weighs 675g (just weighed one), if that helps. Got a link to the listing? Will see if there's anything else we can come up with between us I'm sure
Jolfa
I'll see what eBay do about it, otherwise he's from Clifton, Notts which I about 15mins away from my parents where I'm about to move back to...
AdamR28
Ahh, Clifton, nice area...
Jolfa
No weight on the label either, its 2nd class standard £2.80 (which I think is <1kg, could be wrong) +£1.30 for signed, all the GoPros I've posted fall into that band unfortunately... Guy is called Andrius Stasiunas (presumably eastern European), and is from either 21 or 26 Richardson Close (says 26, but looks like he may have engaged brain and altered it...) Clifton, Notts, NG11 8RS, email is stasys696andius@gmail.com, seller ID is stasys696andius aaaand the listing (which contains little detail I know, I buy the badly described/wrong category ones to make money on, which has been fine until now) http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/261736112100that's all I got... And yeah, knocking on the door of a Russian sounding Clifton resident might be a bad move Edited January 20, 2015 by Jolfa
AdamR28
I thought you bought two? So the weight should be 1400g ish? Signed for is now £2.20, but 2nd Class is £2.80 up to 2kg for a small parcel though as you said Balls. What was the amount of postage paid? Two CDs would fall within Large Letter territory (under 1" thick)...
Duncy H
Surely posting second class at that price for two gopros wouldn't be suitable for the value of the items? Off the top of my head that price bracket is insured for things up to £40ish?
AdamR28
Yeah it's about £20 now - and agreed that's not a suitable service for 2 GoPros - but it was signed for so that removes any chance of a non-delivery claim...
Jolfa
You could post that as large letter, but he put it in one of those proper post box boxes you get at post offices and signed for so its irrelevant. £3.90 postage paid, falls within the same bracket

TrialsIsHard
The police won't take your word for it either I don't imagine. I'd hold out for paypal first as they can seize the money from his account and are generally very helpful, then if nothing happens get the police involved. SamKidney
People shooting down "newer" riders in trials and doubting their claims really makes me wonder how much I want to be associated with the sport.
