isitafox
All this talk of quality discounts made me forget my original reason for looking in here. Been out in one of the fields for an hour this afternoon with a scythe cutting down all the thistles, was obscenely hot (and I hate the heat at the best of times) and I ended up with massive blisters all over my hands. Now in agony trying to pull the levers at work!
Mark W
Q: How can you f**k up boiling some eggs this much? A: Because you're a cunt. The same housemate who managed to explode egg all over most of our kitchen also set fire to some carrots when he was boiling them just after I first moved in to this house.

monkeyseemonkeydo
set fire to some carrots when he was boiling them I'm sure that's not even possible! See the car thread for a list of appropriate words to use for your housemate.

LiamWood!
Civic f**king LCA bolts really do grip my shit. If they aren't snapping when you try to undo them they won't go back into the capsulated nut on the subframe because the bush in the LCA is twisted. A job which should of took 30 minutes took me 3 hours.

Greetings
Not really an angry post but with RSQ gone... I might have a completely warped view on this so just looking for opinions. My father has offered to sponsor part of my motorsport expenses so I can continue doing something I'm clearly very good at. This offer has stood for years but I've always turned it down because I firmly believe that things should not be handed to me and I should work for everything myself because this is good for the character/spirit/whatever. I can't stress enough how strongly I feel about this. Over the past 5 years, I've always chosen motorsport over any other activities so I'm always short of money. This season however has proven to be incredibly expensive and I'm finding it difficult to cope - had to cut down on literally everything, even food, which in turn has made me rather depressed because I no longer have a life. My dad wants to help, he says he gets a massive kick out of my every win or record, he used to be a rally driver himself back in the days, owned an international license. He's well off and won't even notice the help he's offering me but I still feel it's wrong to accept because it's a lot of money and it's not money that I've earned. On the other hand, I can see his point of view and why he wants to help because he will benefit from this as well. Am I being irrational, should I accept the help? isitafox
I'd let him help. For a start he's your father who just wants to support his son, secondly you say you want to work for everything though going off how well you're doing with your motorsport then technically you have earned it and this backing may help you progress further.
Muel
Yes, totally irrational. Free money is good, regardless of where it's from. If it gives your Dad a kick and makes him feel like he's helping out, then better still?
Skoze
Agreed again. Imagine if it was you wanting to help your kid out, i'd be pretty gutted if they wouldn't let me be a part of it when I really wanted to.
Pete.M
Respect for wanting to make your own life. I totally understand where you're coming from. However, the things that you "should do yourself" in life are things that you've already done (getting a career etc). You've proved that you can do that. (Not suggesting everyone should make their own path by the way) Now your talking about a hobby (albeit a very serious one), which is a kind of a different deal. You don't need to restrict your hobbies to being 'only you'. As you say, he will benefit from your racing activities so I think yes, now is probably the time to let him help out. Greetings
Thanks guys, some very sensible arguments there. Need to re-think this.
Pete.M
Can I come and live with you and race BMW's all day? I studied Motorsport Engineering, you know.
Mark W
If you take his help this time then he's going to be happy because he's helping out his son. If by the end of the season you don't like the feeling of it then you can always just turn it down for next year, but he'll still be happy because he got to at least help you out for a bit of it. He's clearly keen on you doing it and has an interest in it, so I'd let him get involved. It'll be something you can both look back on later in life, and it could be a really good thing for you and him in general. trialsiain
Can the police park in disabled parking place to use a cash machine ? Got this in morrisons car park. As they walked across they looked back at the car and clearly knew it was in one.
Muel
It's a brief stop, they can see the car and there are numerous empty spaces. Much like many laws I believe that it's ILLEGAL RAWR at all times, but is only enforced when needed. Clearly not needed there as there's no-one harmed.
