Matthew62
I think that's everyone's mentality. Just can't be arsed to make threads, posts etc haha Quality over quantity, not every has an endless-shitting-stream-of-consciousness-banal-drivel-outpouring that some (not necessarily saying you, but in fact, yes, you) appear to be so very fluent in. I hope this quantifies the required "banter" you forlorn attempt aspired to *insert "haha" wink, sticky-out tongue face*.

Fuk u I got a 1st lolBut seriously, it would be really interesting to meet you in person (don't see this as a confrontation as in a fight haha) but just to see if you're as "loud" in real life as you are on here. I know I definitely am, but word on the street is... you're really really not hahaha
Mark W
So you want 'banter', but not if it's different to the level of 'banter' that would happen IRL?
dann2707
Nope it must be on the same level as on here strictly Stricty.
Jake.
That reminds me, the amount of banter between me and Dan at tartydays was unreal seriously.
Mark W
lol @ "Stricty." But seriously, it's weird how on here people don't seem to get that there isn't one specific "sense of humour" that everyone has to have. Not everyone thinks that simply having a broad regional accent and an overly loud speaking voice is f**king hilarious, in the same way that not everyone thinks that some massively sarcastic throwaway comment is f**king hilarious. EDIT: Not that that is specifically related to this as such, it just seems to be the standard bitch move in every argument on here. Inevitably someone just tries to drop out the "you need to get a sense of humour" kind of reply which is cripplingly f**king weak.

I know I definitely am, but word on the street is... you're really really not hahaha I was just trying to retort to your initial attempt…seems my "banter" was more successful. Not to worry, I don't see any form of confrontation (I've seen a picture of you in shorts) but I wouldn't say 1-2 posts a month constitute "loud"? If you actually mean out-spoken then it depends on the situation and group naturally. As I don't intend to be passing through Leeds anytime soon I'm afraid you'll have to just have to imagine. In regards to your last sentence…..I'm not sure the street has received word of me so not sure where you're getting your information? I've met only a very small number of people from here, in many cases quite some time ago so I'm calling bullshit on that. I know i'm being unfair, it's just I don't really like the way you write, for some reason it irks me. I also find a lot of what you say such unending-relentless crap that it warrants the odd little comments (don't see this as a confrontation as in a fight haha). Tom Booth
2 feet is a shit load of room, and any cyclist uncomfortable with someone using their spatial awareness shouldn't be riding anyway. For the record, I feel the same about other drivers. 2ft is 600mm, the bars on my bike are 810mm wide. I've always been patient with cyclists as a driver, I wouldn't like it if people cut me up on mine so I take the time for others. It's only since owning a road bike I've become aware of how shite cyclist are treated on the roads.
JD™
2ft is 600mm, the bars on my bike are 810mm wide. True, but what has that got to do with the price of fish? My car is about 1.75m wide, does that mean every car that passes me should leave at least 1.75m? I'm not being argumentative (anymore), just wondering what the point was. It's funny, in traffic it's fine for a cyclist to go past a car leaving an inch between their bars and the car, but it's not cool for a car to go past a bike leaving the same gap. As long as there's a gap I don't see the problem. I get that I'm in the minority, but I don't get why.
Mark W
Oh and it wasn't bullshit I'm many things, but a liar is not one. Yeah it was a few years ago, maybe you've developed some balls now? Was this someone meeting someone in a one-off kind of way? If so, judging what someone's like on the basis of a second hand opinion of a single encounter with someone isn't exactly the soundest basis. Someone might happen to be in a f**king awesome mood and be on top of the world, or they might be brutally hung over, or they might have just had some really shit news, or they might just not want to talk to some people. Also, generally chatting shit or "banter" (if you want to get the correct internal elocution for that word, imagine it said through firmly gritted teeth) doesn't take "balls", especially if you're still trying to get some kind of relationship between what people say on here and what happens in real life. The context of it is massively important. The last group ride I was on with some friends there was a detailed conversation about how someone would have f**ked someone else's mum. Do you think that that conversation would have happened between people who were entire strangers? Do you think that's a comment on someone's "balls"? Is it f**k. If you're the sort of person who does that then good for you, but not everyone's mouthy as f**k straight off the bat with people they don't know. Again, it doesn't mean shit, especially bearing in mind this is all just about some sarcastic comments to people. 2ft is 600mm, the bars on my bike are 810mm wide. If you want to run needlessly wide bars you have to accept responsibility for that
dann2707
I love what this has created! Let's play the game of who dunnit now Still waiting on Matthews response. No doubt it will be beautiful and girthy. It's true though, if you don't like someone you'll pick up on anything they say and try to turn it around into a negative. One occasion I can think of was in the Danny Mac thread where I said something completely innocent and the reply was laughable from Mr 62That reminds me, the amount of banter between me and Dan at tartydays was unreal seriously. Haha good times mate. Honestly one of the best weekends of my life so far.

Mark W
I love what this has created! Let's play the game of who dunnit now The difference between this and the "cyclists shouldn't be on the road" thing is that you're actually saying what you think here. In actual 'Angry Thread' news, I spent yesterday undoing what I'd been doing for a few days previously 'cos I thought I could do a certain aspect of it better, but it turns out I couldn't and now I've got to f**k around trying to get it to work in an entirely different way. ItsMatt
about the 2ft overtaking thing. As long as some twat doesn't come flying past at 40mph out of no where I don't give a shit, anyone out of arms reach can do what they want. "I need room to avoid potholes and drain covers" Sure on a corner maybe but learn to hop, even on drop bars its not hard. Most road cyclists who get into situations and cry about it are people who cycle to the office every weekday for a 9-5 and are begging for something interesting to happen in their lives.

I see your reasoning of if its close but nobody gets hurt its OK and I agree to an extent, but I do think that motorists take liberties. I have 1 tonne of steel so it's my right of way. I ride bikes the same as I treat cyclists, if at a junction I'm 4th in line I wait, I don't undercut. I dont nip on/off pavements to save waiting. I ride in my opinion properly and with care (I f**king hate riding on the road so I'm 20056% more careful/aware) but still through all my care and awareness I still find myself in shit situations that are down to motorists. Mark W
Mainly the videos out there where cyclists seem to be being deliberately confrontational with other road users/police/whoever simply because they know they've got a fancy bauble on their helmet that'll record everything that's going on like it's some kind of protective shield for them. Having had to deal with the dickhead commuting cyclists in London for a good few years when I lived there, a lot of the more 'militant' among them have enough of a sense of entitlement to the road as it is without giving them the extra "I'm going to tell on you" factor of recording every time someone rightfully calls them a dick for riding in the middle of their lane. The footage some people have recorded has obviously been useful, but it's a power that's been massively abused by people who want to try and get themselves a 'viral' video and a write-up on BikeBiz or Road.cc...
