trialsiain
Really annoyed with the college decisions I made. I wish I never did 2 years of photography, looking back on it I wish I did outdoor adventure. When I did the taster day for it I thought it was too easy etc but really wish I'd done it now, seen pictures of what mates have been doing and the jobs that they got out of it... I'm in my 3rd year of college now doing a course working on cars, level 2 car maintenance and repair. I can do another year free next year, not sure if I should do level 3 on cars and fault finding or do the outdoor course. Feel like I'd be way too old to even consider the outdoor course since I'm 19 this summer, the majority of people doing it will be 16/17 and maybe some 18... Wish I could turn back time f**ks sake. This is why im so nervous at what course i want to choose at college, I dont really like the sound of any of them to be honest but i know i will regret not getting one

Oh that's never worked for me Yeah man -First time this has ever happened though-Probably due to me swerving left and right to maintain my balance on the back wheel--

Wish I could turn back time f**ks sake. Never worry about being too young to do anything Jake. I thought I wanted to be an architect, did four years at uni , then three years working in that career. At 25 I decided I'd made a mistake, given my location, and 5 or so years later I am coming to the end of my Part time Mechanical Engineering Degree and have a reasonable career as a project engineer in the oil and gas industry. Hind sight is wonderful, but if you don't act on your impulses you WILL regret it when you are older because things start to get in the way as you get older (bills / mortgages / hobbies / love life (GAAAAAAAAAAYYYY) etc) and is more likely to stop you doing things. You are 19, not 50. Get yourself signed up on that course and get it done after* you finish your level 3 in the cars course. It might** be the best thing you have ever done... * I say after because, you might as well complete it. They can't take it away from you once you've done it. **I cannot guarantee it will be the best thing you've ever done. You might hate it, but, I can almost guarantee you'll look back with regret if you don't do it. I made the massive mistake of listening to people who said "Do things that will make you want to get up to college on amorning" So I chose a crazy eclectic range of shit (ICT, english language, photography and resistant materials) None of which helped me get a job interview for what I want to be now. Azarathal
I'm 21 and still have no clue what I want. My problem is I change my mind every 5minutes, I can't sit still and I lose interest in things quickly. I'd love to do a mechanics course and pursue a career but my only option is an apprenticeship and I can't afford to live on that

Jake.
Interesting to hear peoples feedback on this haha, will definitely be enroll for another year working on cars I reckon. Will be a good life skill to have even if I don't get a job in a garage. Will look into the outdoor adventure course again, chat to the people who run it and see what aged people they get doing it. Cheers lads, been a help once again as per usual. had to get an extension for an essay, haven't needed to do this ever before, feel like i've let myself down. least i won't be pulling all nighters but i'm still miffed. If it makes you feel any better, when I did photography I left everything to the last 2 weeks. I did 4 months of work in 2 weeks... You'll be fine.I did get a D though haha. isitafox
Will it be an English college or Scottish? Why not just do A levels in maths, english and science. They seem to be the basics required for a lot of jobs so wouldn't tie you down to anything in particular. EDIT: Bare in mind that I started a motorcycle mechanics course at college, quit after 3 months (most of which I skipped anyhow) and didn't really end up with any decent qualifications at all. All this after using my exam leave to do zero studying and just ride trials 8-10 hours a day (and I was still crap at that!)

Im on my 2nd, coming to 3rd year of being an apprentice and am on a really good wage. I don't want to sound like I'm bragging or anything but just thought I'd let you know! In my course ( Motor vehicle ) there is only 1 lad who's on minimum, and he's a wet blanket
